Best Catching Poems
Missing words that drop from the quiet sky..
Some you just can't catch and let pass by..
Others are like tasting raindrops in the night..
Or trying to kiss a snowflake before its out of sight..
Clearer days and clearer minds let more land straight..
Now its easier to feel the thoughts from love not hate..

The black and orange dust
comes off on my fingers
revealing the fragile mesh
so easily crushed
therefore brave
I was troubled
the color was so loose
so removable to my hand
but even more at the
transparency beneath
Oh, don't go catching butterflies
until you are prepared to see
the underpinning delicate and clear
where there is courage
destructibility and fear

TIME CATCHING
©Alfreda Williamson, 6/29/12
Spring’s first day . . .
blustery, blowing,
as cold as
Winter’s first blast.
Until . . .
as hot as, blazing,
relentless,
Summer’s sun.
Then . . .
as I stood in,
the midst of the seasons.
I felt it,
ever so softly, almost imperceptibly,
a brushing against my cheek,
a landing on my bare feet,
that I almost could not feel.
Just,
one, tiny,
yellow leaf,
that I saw in my mind’s eye . . .
frantically, decidedly,
swirling speedily to the ground,
as if heralding,
Autumn.

TIME, catching up to itself.
SEASONS, catching up to themselves,
All at once . . .
time’s flying,
compressing,
Winding up.

Prose Poetry
It comes across as anger
But really it's despair,
It may seem bad tempered
But it's just because you care.
For you know where they are going
You know what's up ahead,
And you know that you have no control
And it fills your heart with dread.
Once again dragged down a path
Where you don't want to go.
Anxiety for company,
Watching your worries grow.
But you bite down on your worries
You push aside your fears,
For there's nothing that you won't endure
For those you hold so dear.
Maybe you have no control
But what you do is care.
So whatever path they stumble down
Your love will take you there.
This tempest of emotion
In time will surely ease.
It very nearly broke your heart,
And brought you to your knees.
But God, he gave you courage
The strength to endure all,
To be there for your loved ones,
And catch them when they fall.

Remember as a child playing cards,
Go Fish?
A child's life and fishing go together,
dreaming about catching the big one.
How big is the big one?
At what age will they catch it?
Will it be from land or from a boat?
Yes a child will dream about the big one,
the big one being on the end of their fishing line.
One Day ~ Some Day.

my heart
races so
my breath
i cannot catch
how the seconds the hours
vanish
powder puff dreams
crumble to dust
scattered
by a gust of wind
there it was
life
and now
it’s nearly gone

Your wish come true
If you come back
And truly love.
It's worth the wait
If you believe
That love can wait.
Hope not in vain
If you pursue
And not give up.
Eyes on the road
Keep wheel on hand
Pursue your dream.

Spoilers!
Sparks aflame
Fire and rage spread
Nowhere to go
Nowhere to run!
The capitol want's revenge!
They will do anything to get it.
Back into the arena I am sent
Pitting Peeta and I against each other.
A marriage proposal
never to be fufilled
they tricked us
It will never happen.
I have to go on
a twist in the story
Tick,tock,tick, tock
The arena is a clock
All living tributes
taken out of the arena
a official is secretly a rebel
wanting to overthrow the capitol
But where is Peeta?
No where to be found
Caputured in the hands of the capitol
I must save him!

*Paghuli ng Bulalakaw*
Minsan ako'y nakahuli ng isang bulalakaw,
at sa aking mga kamay inilagay
Ako'y lubhang napaso, nasaktan ng lubusan
kaya't aking itong pinakawalan...
Isang gabi, natanaw ko ang isang tala
na nagliyab sa himpapawirin
Akin lamang tinignan, at aking pinagmithian
Wari ko'y ngayon, tama ang aking ginawa.

*Catching Falling Stars*
Once I caught a falling star
and cupped it in my hand...
It burned me so, it hurt me so
that I just had to let it go
Then one night, I saw a star
that blazed across the sky...
I looked at it, just wished upon it
and I knew that this time, I did right.

Oddly enough I haven't really written any poems in
my native tongue, tsk tsk shame on me!!
(I've only written only ONE, wow)
& it's taking me forever to translate it to English
so, I decided to go about it the other way around
and translate an old poem of mine instead, & here
it is! My Filipino translation though is sort of rusty when
it comes to the flow of the poem (but hmm I guess
only those who know how to speak Tagalog would see that ^_~)
it's fun though so I just might try to write more translations!
Gert sure makes this look sooo easy!! ;)

Sitting there so beautifully-
the one who had stolen my heart from me.
I walked right by to catch his eye,
but caught a pole instead.

to be true or is it that Im meant to be with you Either

While some of us are quietly catching it.
Which are you?

I catch the rain, speckled-droplets of life on my skin.
The pure water that instills life in our beings, soul and kin.
I catch the rain on my face to feel the wetness
In the heat of the yellow sun---in that brightness.
I embrace the dark wet earth
As it envelops me for a moment in its warmth.
I rise with the sun; I go where the wind takes me
To far horizons of this world and others in its fury and fume.
Pondering over lush green valleys of fruit and sweetness.
Hovering with the hummingbirds
As I smell the scent of the honey-dewed mistiness.
My soul enters the deep white clouds.
I feel the fresh stream of water on my limbs.
I meditate on the moon.
As it transfixes me into their world of rapture, purity and fun.
Their world, uncorrupted by the immoral vices of men.
I drink the cup of purity in their den.
In that faraway world where our dreams begin,
And our wakefulness ends.
Dare I make an oath to God?
Dare I be one with Him, nature and the universe?
Dare I venture atop the highest mountain?
Look down at the lake of my soul and sing this verse
So I can see without my eyes.
Yet see my soul deep in that dark blue lake.
Dare I smell without my nose and feel without my skin?
Inhale the sweet scent from that lake,
Feel the cool waters of that creek,
Have a vision rich, colourful, vibrant
With hues of red, blue, green and yellow--my soul radiant.
The brightness of my union with nature and God as I swim
Diving deep into the depths of my existence without care or whim
In this time amongst the willow
As I slumber in a deep sleep on God's soft pillow.

Dragonflies are the jewels of the pond.
Fluttering, they land on dewy kissed leaves,
Colors shimmering reflects in the sun.
Their four wings are always catching the sun,
Inspires thoughts of fairies around the pond.
Little nymphs flitting from flowers to leaves.
Emerald spread wings basking on the leaves.
They're magical creatures of air and sun,
Beautiful turns, swoops and zooms above the pond.
Pond's reedy leaves attract sun-catching nymphs.

Catching Rays – a Duo Rhyme
If you’re lying naked on your chaise
in your backyard catching rays
be careful others may intrude
calling your behavior lewd
a towel cover you should include
in case your accidently viewed
certain parts must not protrude
when you sunbathe In the nude
your actions might be misconstrued
and cause the neighborhood to feud
but go for it on sunny days
if your in a tanning craze
