Premium Member Dear Calico Cat

Dear calico cat your colors splat,
in oranges and golds and fortified blacks.
A pallet for the eyes to see your rich
fur tapestry..
The sun embraces your royalty.
How glorious is God's gift to thee.

Premium Member Cardinal Killer

Warm cuddle curled
Up next to me
Cardinal killer
Jasmine
Your human was six
When she asked
For a Calico
Next day
A white black and gold ball of love
Joined our family
Full grown
In cat years at least
One year older than
The one you've been
Sweet loving companion to
And now her daughter, too
Never a mouse in the house where
You lived
That crimson clump of feathers
You left on my doorstep
My favorite team's mascot
Easy prey, I guess, for one
Sporting the colors of their Super Bowl
Nemesis
I forgave you then... now... always
My heart breaks
Last night of my visit I always spend
Holding you
She's 22... so you're over 100
I'm 63 and starting to creak
Hurts to watch you move
But you still eat, use your litter box
And do the best thing you do
Cuddle and purr pure love
Your soul I will hold onto
With this poem
From my heart
Forever

Premium Member Encounter with a Calico Cat

       a calico cat
         and I met
       in my yard today

       it mewed at me
         as if to say

       we’d met before
         in days of yore

       when I was
         much smaller
       and knew how to play

Premium Member Fluffy Calico Cat

Fluffy calico cat strutted as if she were a male
Flashing about her fantastic signature tail
Cats on both sides of the alley got out of her way
Envious of confidence that grew every day.

Premium Member Calico Cat Knew What To Do

Dog and the mule came to the outer space challenge without a clue.
Calico Cat arrived fully prepared, knowing exactly what to do.
The dog and the mule resented her at first, for she was so smart.
But she knew how to speak in a gentle way; it was a great start.

She also shared, and she taught them how to survive on their wits.
They began listening to Calico Cat, and they stopped their little fits.
She had empathy, and she was kind, a great listener too.
They began seeking her out, liking her ability to know what to do.

How did you get wise? Dog and mule asked that cagey generous cat.
I started out on my first outer space challenge with a very wise rat.
He showed me what to bring, gave me tips every inch along the way.
We were fast friends, not enemies, by the end of the very first day.

I still value him, the Calico Cat told us. We see each other in the alley.
We pretend we don’t, but sometimes we wink. His name is Rat Rally.
Not supposed to be friends, but we are. I save his life every day!
Moral of this story: Give everyone a chance, and listen to other’s wise ways

Premium Member Lonely, Calico Cat

Her green eyes aglow,
          Observing soft, falling snow.
          Winds whispered, alas!

Premium Member Calico Cat Titty

Calico cat was curiously itty bitty
She had moved to Iowa from New York City
Taking a liking to her was a dog named Smitty
She was playful and fun, extremely witty

Handsome Mr. Mitty said it is such a pity.
For he also had set his cap on this cat named Titty.
Titty the calico cat penned a wonderful ditty.
About how she was moving back to New York City.

A calico cat, morphs into the love of your life.

Premium Member Ethereal Calico Cat

Ethereal calico cat has eighteen lives
Nine for other felines, but this kind jives
She is mystically, magically surreal,
Surviving much longer; it’s a calico deal.

Premium Member Calico Cat Missing

The lady down the street has lost her cat
A calico, I think, with feral ancestral ties
Her next door neighbor knows where it's at
Since, to spite her, he gave it to a friend.
But, calico cat has come to a good end,
Better than a meaner neighbor surmised
Because the pussy was left to roam loose
This neighbor had planned a poisonous dish
Which would've surely cooked calico's goose.
I have kept blithely discrete about calico's
Not-so-suspicious and handy disappearing
Since I like to keep peace in the neighborhood
And, I'm also still somewhat god-fearing.
