Notes About The Poem

See the source image

I put the humming bird feeder this week up high on the retaining wall. I had to get the step ladder to get up there myself to hang it. My grandson had put the pole to hang the feeder on a few weeks ago but I am a little slow getting the feeder filled, etc. The cat climbed the ladder( which I had left out there for future use) and got up on the wall then sat there watching and waiting for a hummer to come by. It wasn't long and I saw her jump down. I guess when she saw that hummer and it up so high that she thought that isn't worth the effort it would take to catch it. LOL..

I used to have a bird feeder I kept full of sunflower seeds, for the birds; the neighbor's cat would come and lie underneath it for hours. Curiously, he would let the birds eat the seeds as he lay there; we discussed it and came to the conclusion that he just may have thought it a neat decoration. Either that or he stayed too full to chase birds. I enjoyed this read.

M.L., Some cats are not as bad as the others about catching something wild and eating it. My Cindy does love bird even though I put food out for her. She has not been as bad this summer as sometimes I guess the heat has taken her appetite. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

SO cute. I enjoyed the story behind this, Sara. About your comment to my cat poem, my cat is getting thin too, VERY thn, but it's due to diabetes. I am giving her blood sugar drops. Not as good as insulun they tell me to buy, but that is just too expensive and so far my cat is holding steady at six or seven pounds.
