A broken thought holds meaning
Even though its not completed
A broken dream shines, envisaging
Even though its not really alive
A broken smile brings a sweetness
Even though its not always smiling
A broken tear falls from the soul
Even though its not filled with hope
A broken heart shares a silent light,
Even though it isn’t softly glowing…
Like candlelight, with assurance, knowing
That there is nothing impossible in life…
Even the broken can pick up the pieces,
Pouring out the glue of insight and beauty,
Filling the mind with a sense of belonging,
Soothing away the doubts with sincerity,
A knowing that love will find a way to bring…
Joy and truth, pasting the feelings together
With a promise of the song who lasts forever,
The song of kindness, the song so gentle …
It brings the broken a reminder that life is filled
With brokenness, but it can be mended…
By a love who is stirred to life by the hand who
Brings the best gift, the spirit who lifts hearts
So they always believe, they always see…
The meaning beneath being broken is spoken
In the prayer that changes darkness to light,
The promise of a love that gives peace to the night,
The miracle of a Savior who never grows old,
The wonder and the joy, the peace and the hope
Forever in the soul of those who know He is alive
And, because of Him, the broken can be restored,
The heart that bleeds can fulfill every dream,
The soul that is afraid is reminded – He is brave!

And amazed by the gift of His saving grace, the beautiful
Written on the face of the heart who hears His music
And feels sure that He is the answer to every yearning,
He is the glue that promises the spirit it will never die
Because of His goodness, His blessing, His sacrifice –
He is my heart’s healing, my soul’s faith, my spirit’s thanks!

With a broken smile, a broken dream, a broken heart
I hold the key to paradise – it comes to life despite the flaw
That leaves its meaning beneath the broken smile, the broken
Know that it is in the brokenness that He finds pure gold,
The gift to those who sincerely believe – He can and will fix anything!

Broken Dreams

They said it was just a passing fad
Dark clouds continue to stay
You have to take the good with the bad
But the bad just won't go away

They tell you to live the American dream
And fight for that dream at all cost
But now we all live the American scheme
Too many dreams have been lost

It cost an arm and a leg for a tank of gas
And people are losing their jobs
Lay it all on the line to borrow more cash
But there are already too many scars

So open your eyes oh say can you see
Is this the American way
No home can be saved and nothing is free
And our dreams have been all swept away

Broken Dreams

Do you believe in the things that you've always known,
Can you understand the things you've been shown.
Is it the visions you see that make you believe,
Or is the feelings you get when you've been deceived.
The pain you feel a never ending ache ,
Tearing your heart and soul from you every day.
Time ticks slowly pounding away at you,
Throbbing heart breaking and there's nothing you can do,
Must I settle for these lost and broken dreams,
Because it has all the signs that what it seems.
How much should a man endure to find his way,
It cant possibly be like this hard for me every day.
There is nothing so frustrating as being so confused,
Especially when you've discovered that you've been used.
I will get through this lonely phase I have no doubts,
But I'm sure there will come a day I'll figure it all out.
Cautiously I walk the path that's been laid before me,
In faith I will continue for I know he will let me see.
Life will be thrown at you in so many different ways,
I will be prepared for these things for the rest of my days.
Broken dreams will be the learning tree for me to grow ,
Living my life with Joy Happiness is what I'll always Know.

There is a simple fact very few of you see
I’m as alive as alive can be.
I start at the mountains and I end at the sea,
Life is abundant inside of me.
MY life begins by the melting of snow and ice.
My rapids are guilty of taking life.
This saddens me deeply and it hurts my soul,
Murder wasn’t meant to be my goal.
I once had the freedom to plot my own course
Now, I’m full of sad remorse.
There are many demons who have altered my life
Left me full of heartache and strife.
They have built huge structures to alter my way
Creating places for them to play.
It also provides them with energy they need,
Evil demons full of greed.
Salmon swim up inside me to spawn far as they can go
Life and death struggles in my ebb and flow.
Forever altered, I can’t believe these demons can’t see
I’m the mother of all inside of me.
They dump their poison without any remorse at all
As entire species get sick and fall.
Now, I’m sad to say they have gone way too far
Clouds no longer block out the stars.
The earth is getting warmer and warmer each year.
The sky is dry and void of tears.
As the world heats up because of your choices
Mother Nature hears our voices.
She is the mother who cares for one and all
Its time you humans should fall.
As I run dry and have no choice, but to succumb to death
What will you do with no water left?
No more power generated from your mighty stations,
Creating another great human migration?
With no more animals left on earth to kill for sport,
Will starvation be your final resort?
I was once a mighty river full of a million dreams
Now I’m reduced to a trickling stream.
Your farmer’s wells are starting to run completely dry
As you all argue the reason why.
Climate change is nothing, but another hoax you say,
In the end our mother will make you pay.
Drought in the west with mighty storms in the east,
Mother’s vengeance is a powerful beast.
The situations you created through the webs you’ve spun
Create untold hurricanes and blistering sun.
There is a simple fact of this poem that is nothing nice;
All life on earth will pay for your vise.
I’m now broken and void of all my happiness it seems
I’m now just “The River of Broken Dreams.’

Broken Dreams

Sitting by the window looking far ahead
And see glaze of waters so beautifully spread
Butterflies are dancing in the sunny sky
I wish to dance with them
O why o why can’t I?

Sitting by the window looking far away
Imagine the beauty of Monterey Bay
All is so beautiful the ocean blue sky
I just wish to be there
O why o why can’t I?

Sitting by the window looking very far
See sunset and sunrise and the midnight star
All the birds are flying up so very high
I wish to fly with them
O why o why can’t I?

Sitting by the window with my frozen tears
With my broken heart and my broken dreams
The tears will come down from the big blue sky
I wish to stop crying
O why o why can’t I?

Where the rainbow spread
The wings of love and hope
And my tears will dry
And I never cry
And all of my dreams
Never ever die......

BROKEN DREAMS
Flit

The only thing that's missing
Is the problem you can't see?
A cloak of darkness in your mind
It covers all you see
You never listened to what I said
You showed no faith in me
When will you realize I’m gone?
A little thought for me

All I wanted was a day of sunshine
Just to stand a chance
You focused on the destination
Missing all the dance
When will these memories slip away
No reason to pretend
But while im thinking about you
The hurt just doesn't end

You never thought that I'd succeed
But I’m stronger than you knew
If you could get inside my head,
You’re a ghost just passing through
And don’t you think it’s all insane?
Where nothing's what it seems
Just look around, and you will see
A life of broken dreams

Broken Dreams

Shards of broken dreams cascade before me
As pottery, dashed upon the stone
In my heart I know that I have killed them
As the dreams we have do not die alone

They must be sown in fertile fields of promise
Nurtured until they dare to bloom anew
Their fragrance to be savored by believers
Gathered once again as dreamers do

I am free, free to dream again

The games you always play
while in my bed you lay
I weaken at your touch
Sometimes it just gets to much

I thought I found someone new
I thought I found some one who
Had it all... had it all
But my dreams fell apart... fell apart
It fell apart along with my heart.

I wonder how we survived
 the regrets and past mistakes
Couldn't help myself over you
as you played with my heart

I thought I found someone new
I thought I found someone who
Had it all...had it all
But my dreams fell apart... fell apart
It fell apart along with my heart.

We laughed and we cried
Slowly a part of us had died
We slowly drifted away
As we said our goodbye.

Premium Member Trying To Grasp the Wind

Trying To Grasp The wind.
.
My hearts long for desiring
Mat never transpire to be
But dwells in within
The very deepest part of me
For what I want is like the sweetest tasty apple
Always there so close yet out of my reach
For I am hungry for love
And without the lavish feast
.
I often wonder what did I do wrong
My natural urges beyond my control
And so ever strong
To never see my first born
Look up and smile at me
Is like a dagger I feel so painfully
But never see
.
To never have a love so strong
As a loving sweetheart
Almost seems a sin
I’m trying to reach for the impossible
But foolishly
Trying to grasp the wind.
.

Street of Broken Dreams

There is a place far from here
a land full of bitter tears,
a place where lonely folks can go
when they seek to mend broken hearts,
and find lost dreams.

A land of winding lonely streets,
dark places where the sad ones come
walking alone with shattered memories
known only as the street of broken dreams.

It is a land of bitter memories,
dark dreams and broken hearts;
a place far from here, where only
the lonely can walk....
...on the streets of broken dreams.

The sun rarely shines on these stained walks,
dark shadows mar their way...
sadness and bitter tears are their signposts
on these empty streets of broken dreams.

Those who come may linger awhile,
seeking to find their way,
until at last their journey brings them...
to the end of their street of broken dreams.

THESE BROKEN DREAMS
Collaboration with White Wolf

If these broken dreams were meant to be,
Then why is this world so hard to see?
This world we live in is so obscene,
If only we could live in a dream.

Some say living in a dream is bad
I always think that awfully sad
For it's this world that's broken, not the dream
We stand on it's painful smithereens

What is important is in your heart
Not all in life wants you to be smart,
Find your pack, find your path, find your rhyme
That's what is important in your time

When wondering if life is worthwhile,
You’ll often find yourself with a smile

POET'S NOTES
With her monoku, Marlene 'Mountain' Morelock Wills (1939–2018), challenged the idea that haiku must consist of two juxtaposed images. I explore parallelism as a possible poetic device in this monoku, as well as a form of internal rhyme.

Besides the obvious meaning of "broken" (to break), "morning is broken" is an example of a contronym:

Now, as an adult, I realize that the use of “broken” in the expression “Morning has broken” is most closely related to breaking through a barrier, out of a throng, or through a surface. In fact, Merriam-Webster clusters it there: “to come into being by…bursting forth.”

PASSING NOTES: Morning Has Broken, by Christina M. Bentley October 9, 2017.

Broken Dreams

Broken dreams

Tonight I`m happy and sad
I refuse to cry over lost friends
I`m drunk too
It feels good to up the anchor of sobriety
Let alcohol give winds to my sails.
I`m a clipper buying tea in China
 not useless toys
Sleek the line and the women admired me
let the clipper sail
I don`t care I will stay here and
make love to you.
I`m sorry I left you, my Liverpool girl but
I went to Brazil to harvest coffee beans
Guatemala I got there by chance
the beach in the moonlight
I have not forgotten my promises
one day more, just one day more
but the ship always sails to other shores
and I never got to write
the poem of my life

Broken Dreams

Standing in the place I once called
Once was a shelter now seems like a cage
I can not escape and all the memories,
securities , and familiarities have been
transformed into broken dreams,
 home
I never knew that child you wanted me be
other than the beauty you passed to me
there was no other similiarities.
you are the one who can achieve anything .
you aim to please. I couldnt curve sensitivities

that were only tantrums and not a part of me .
get over it mask my past just put on a pretty face
im told to mask my past and put on a pretty smile
silencing inner turmoil looking like a happy child
No acceptance for the little girl you knew was different
you found contentment in my silence still no resentment
I still cant let em see a tear I keep my commitment

all these broken dreams Lost in a confused mentality
the diagnosis was rather hopeless in my lifes analogy
my father an incredible actor I was not a factor
support was mere rehearsals while preparing a speech
and after the curtains last call I couldn't pay him to call
which never made me feel small cause in my
broken dreams im dADDYS lil angel his one and all

Broken Dreams Don'T Die But They Just Bleed, Bruise, Heal and Require

Broken dreams don't die, they just bleed
They cry out for somebody to believe , believe me everybody cries even me

Have you ever wondered what happened to those dreams we ignored.
Do they turn into nightmares in a rage
Or do they simply fade away
I suspect the latter

But it is easier to choose to ignore them rather than risk disappointment

See I too sometimes fear the bitter taste of failure,
the shame that comes with falling short of Glory
The embarrassments, the dead ends, the apologies :"I'm sorry but you're not good enough
Aim a bit lower "they Say. "Try something else"
they say

My response?
Excuse me but weren't the gutters meant for gutless. I live by Yoda's code :"Try not. Do not or do.
There's no try

Because broken dreams don't die.
They bruise.
They scream for somebody to believe, believe me everybody is afraid of something.
Even me.

Its a shame.
That we cowards do not understand that courage is not the absence of fear.
It's rather the presence of mind to act deliberately in the face of it.
It's the will to will to submit oneself as a knit upon a steed ready to perform each and every deed to which our dreams demands
