Best Brightly Poems
Friendships are made, friendships are broken
But the friendships here on the site
Are as strong as any that have ever existed
Unencumbered by outside influences
They thrive in an atmosphere of a common language
That of love, compassion, and joy
In the knowledge there are still loving souls out there
Amid the turmoil that exists in the world
Wars have been fought since the beginning of time
They have always been part of the human condition
This desire to be king of the hill
Starts early on with childhood interaction
Bullies trying to prove their superiority by strength
But their strength is usually only physical
There is also a strength of character
Which the so-called meek of the earth possess
That is stronger than physical strength
Strength of character is the strength I describe
Those that possess it often go on to great success
If their fire within is allowed to burn brightly
So let the friendships here on this site
Burn brightly with the love of the written word
The words in rhyme that communicate
A love of our fellow inhabitants
Of this wonderful site and this wonderful world
We call Earth!
Lilac lavender leaves fluttered ethereally
over the smooth sea of the placid lake.
A shimmer of light shone over the calm waves,
as they rolled silently and collectively
towards the sandy shore now lit
by the rising of the amber full moon.
Wave after wave composed
a lyrical enchanting melody
played by the rising orb.
The leaves formed fragrant shapes
emulating the grandness of the scene.
In the gathering darkness two lovers
heard the alluring symphony
and felt each other entwined
in a dance of love as the moon
in a dreamy crescendo shone
brightly evermore.
Until the eclipse took place.
Then it hummed no more that night.
Truth, Shines Ever So Brightly
I was once wrapped it teeth and thick fur
ferocious and ghastly beast was me.
I was a bad dog, a wicked little cur
whipping and snapping at every small flea.
One day, the sun burnt my covering hide
and exposed my hideous skin to see.
Such truth, this heart could not abide
stung me ever so sharply like a bee.
Now comes time to hold less as much more
walk a different path free and alone.
Yes, light filtered through that sad door
where my greatest folly was then shown.
I was once wrapped in thick, shiny scales
Now a deep truth destroys those tall tales.

The fire crackled and spat out embers
that gleamed brightly in the hearth.
Yet unattended they soon died away
to become dull grey ash particles.
Just like a fire need laying and tending
so too does love to help it strongly flourish.
Careful layering of dry tinder and
a few wisps of newspaper tightly curled.
Twigs and small branches added next
then a flame is held out until it ignites.
Take care to nourish your love
and show them sweet tenderness.
Gentle fanning growing more vigorous
as all starts to catch with a happy roar.
Feed it well and soak up its heat
and watch as shadows flicker on walls.
Bank it up well so it slowly smoulders
throughout the night. Fan the embers
and watch the flames slowly revive
just like love does when cared for.
Bask together in its glow
as it consumes and flourishes.
Filling you with love eternal
as you grow old together.
It is a gorgeous spring day, there are greens on both sides of the road.
The smells are fantastic, and my hair is blowing like I’m on a cycle.
I’m actually driving my new purple trans am, windows down, music blaring.
The white racing stripes might have been a bit much, but
Not for me. The sun is beaming on us with magic happy.

Should I try to outrun him?
He’s gaining on me fast. I glance at speedometer. Swear.
82 m.p.h. This is what happens when I listen to the Oldies.
I pull off, waiting, heart beating fast.
Lanky patrolman pulls himself out of car, gets younger as he gets closer.
“Hi,” I say, brightly.
He says, “License and registration, Ma’am.”
He is carrying his ticket pad, and a pen.
My hands are shaking as I start stammering nonsense.
He studies my license a second, says, “Just a minute, Ma’am,”
Walks back to his car, slides in, sits down, spends an hour or two in there.
I get worried I might have accidentally handed him my big-limit Visa card.
My heart is thudding, as I watch him laboriously walk back to my Trans Am
Who is not feeling so fine and foxy now. “It’s your fault!” I tell her. “You did this!”
“You were going 81,” he tells me. Eighty-two, I wisely don’t say.
“I am giving you an opportunity to slow down, and today, I’m giving you a warning,” he says.
No smile. No expression. He could give a mannequin a lesson in subtle.
I cannot help it. “Why?”
A glimmer of an ant’s smile starts in the left corner of his mouth, for a second, but he quickly snaps it off.
“Here’s the deal, Ma’am,” he tells me. “I stopped this car yesterday, on this same curve. I wouldn’t feel right about giving you a ticket on the same corner, at the same speed after letting your 17-year-old daughter off with a warning.”
In my head I picture my adorable blonde daughter who was wearing white hot-pants yesterday.
As a last hurrah he says, “I’m going to be out here for another two hours, Ma’am.”
We both smile.
This is the best warning I’ve ever had!

when the sun is about to rise above, one can see and admire the beauty of the light coming
out the sun which is like gold colour which is covered all whoever it comes on. all the
birds meet on the trees nearby singing with perfect cordination with each other, saluting
the sun, one can also feel the heat of the sun on those who shining on them. some
passerbys drinking water to quinch their thirst because the heat is going very high as soon
the sun goes up little by little, and when the sun goes down in the evening, one can feel
the light heat and the light that seems to be very golden yellowish on the fields and where it
passes leaving a spectular beauty looking at it, by going up little by little till it vanishes behind the sea for good
The sun shines brightly, it's a beautiful day I watch the diamonds ripple on the water by the bay If I could only hold your hand We could sit here and hear the band Oh no~the sky is turning gray
What can I say Will we need to stop our play This weather was not planned The sun shines brightly....
Did you see the big flying blue jay The four kids went that way With all of this sun they will be well tanned The party is not on the sand but on the land Did you know it is his birthday The sun shines brightly....

Another star is twinkling now,
From the sky at night,
For your soul has flown to Heaven
And there it shines so bright.
You could not have been more loved
During your time on Earth,
For you caused so much happiness,
With your brand of love and mirth.
It is comforting to know that
Your love’s still shining down,
So when we often think of you
It’s with a smile and not a frown.
For life doesn’t end; it’s a circle,
Of that, I feel quite sure,
And one day we will join you and enter
That same revolving door.
Lullabies , fireflies , he placed the ring on her tiny finger
Softest lasting ambrosia silhouettes , he kissed her, lightly they linger
Lasting hugs, embrace he kissed her one last time
I speak to you , he softly said..''I love thee''
Soft garnet chimes played , sweetly
Whilst thou love thee? , even death My love ?
He will remember her raspberry wine lips though all time
I slumber peacefully, with you near my beloved Angel chime
Dawns leathery emerald light shines
Mystical tender hands she carried to the grave
Nymphs were etched on her headstone
Radiant light shines only at twilight now
Her spirit visits when I come , he loved her deeply
Wandering spirits lay to to stay
Enchantment within all fairy's wand, will she return?
Azure lace, he could feel the music as if she was near
Aspirations , beauty , she now holds his fragile hand , many years later
She waited as he fell asleep next to headstone

We are all neon mortals!
We may be flashing lights
Illuminators of truth broadcasting
Brilliant messages for a while
but
Eventually,
The lights grow dim
And the power goes out.

As You are my light,
It shines brightly,
filling my soul.
You God, fill it with
love. You fill my heart
with wonder and
Awe.
You made me knowing
each hair on my head
as you know the stars
in the sky.
You knitted me together in my
mothers womb. Knowing
What I will do today as well as tomorrow.
You amaze me with your
insistent love for me.
A love that never ends.
Psalm 139
Truly a favorite verse.
Dreams wed forever partied in the park.
Hope's voice permeated life's freshest air.
Beloved friends, there rejoiced at love's spark.
The wedding guests adorned in formal wear.
Enjoying snacks and drinking way past dark
Oh sweet nostalgia, come again, so fair.
Beneath night-lights held tight by romance.
Couples glowing brightly, spinning…thoughts dance.
My teardrops stung the steering wheel
As I drove into the black
And kept my heart upon the feel
Of never looking back.
I took off down that winding road,
Wounded; far beyond all sense,
Carrying a most taxing load
So terribly immense.
The sheer weight of disappointment
Was just more than I could bear
And in a moment of lament
I wished that you were there.
A single thought that made me ill
To the reaches of my core.
How could I even want you still
When I was nothing more
Than a means to an end? A toy
Used in such a senseless game
That, given time, would soon destroy
A brightly burning flame.
