love is all you need

Don't by me designer clothes, don't give me precious stones, don't need none of that. Take me for a walk on the beach by the cove. I want to feel the rocks beneath my toes.

Don't want to live in a mansion where fake people dwell.
Don't want to rent the penthouse in some fancy hotel.

Build me a shack that has a big wooden beam.
With a large front porch by a flowing stream.

Make me a hammock swinging from a tree.
We will lay in it together just you and me.

Don't want to eat in exclusive restaurants where I cant be myself.
filled with self – important people flaunting their wealth.

Lets sit on a blanket and eat under a shady tree.
Where time is not our master and we can be who we want to be.

Don't want to go shopping in luxury boutiques
Don't want to walk the streets of Champs -Elysees

Don't need no possessions to make me feel good.
Sit me amongst the wild flowers in some over grown wood.

Don't need anyone's approval, don't need to impress
Don't need my nails done don't need no fancy dress.

All the money in the world doesn't make you rich, don't you see,
love is all you need, and its within you and me.

Boracay

White-sugary sand
                 Desirable beaches that surround
                              Sunrise at its prime
       Sunset's a beautiful scenery of love and freedom

                             A place to unwind
                        Greets you with a smile
  Travel, lifestyle, entertainment - name it and you'll find
           Sailing, diving, surfing and island hopping
           Gift shops, souvenirs, boutiques at D'Mall
                   Bars and restaurants to party
                  Bands, acoustic, music inviting
                    Night life's lively until dawn
                 Fire-dancing is the main show

                 Massage, foot-spa, facial service
                  Massage stations on the beach
    Or sit-back and relax for a private hotel offering

                                    Skin-art?
                     Henna-tattoos everywhere
                Though the drawings temporary
             The joy and experience are long-lasting

                  Nature-trippers will say, "WOW"
                  A splendid appearance waiting
 Volcanic caves, mangrove forest, coconut trees - so green
                And if you're up to burn your skin
                  The sun is set for sun bathing

                              An island tropical
                            In a region far-away
                            A land of promises
                            For vacation's best
                            Happiness, certain
                           Countless memories
               With people welcoming and friendly
                     In an island called, "BORACAY"
                            A paradise to keep.

Premium Member My Vacation

I would like a dream vacation,
     Paris is my destination;
For me this would be a delight,
          I am ready to book a flight.

I will walk the wide boulevards,
     And sneak a peek at nice backyards;
Oh, it would be lovely at night,
          I am ready to book a flight.

I would drift on the Seine River,
     The Louvre-  I would stay ever;
The Eiffel Tower, what a sight,
           I am ready to book a flight.

At the Notre-Dame I would pray,
     In the boutiques I want to stay;
In an old cemetery- write,
          I am ready to book a flight.

And search for my French ancestors,
     Unadorned graves with no answers;
Oh, almost there, but just not quite,
          I am ready to book a flight.

Brighton-England

Historical Brighton,
South coast of England,
Surviving foreign sea attacks,
Declining population,
Until the roads improved,
And the train lines brought,
More traveling visitors,
Located one hour from London,
Becoming a boarding point to France,
Trading the port’s economy,
Visitors started to arrive,
King George,
Constructed the royal pavilion,
No expense spared,
Glamorous! Eccentric glory,
Later sold to the city,
A mere fifty pounds,
Tourism!
Day-trippers,
Bathing in the sea,
Said to be healing,
Was that true?
Or did people just feel better,
Away from reality,
Buildings were erected,
Great hotels,
Attractions,
The famous pier!
Making it popular,
Railways a much quicker easier way,
A quirky town for people to frequent,
Even called the hippest city,
How far has it come?
It’s gone all the way,
Popular in every aspect,
Cultural music and arts,
Millions of overnight visitors,
These modern times,
Anything goes,
Has the happiest and coolest beach,
A gay-friendly city
With fun in the sun,
Coffee shops! Bars! Boutiques,
Something for everyone,
A great place!
Brighton!
Do come.

The New Tomorrow

The New Tomorrow

Shopping street posh boutiques, perfumeries and cafes plenteous
something for all to eat and drink. My wife has gone to buy a dress
and I wait with a glass of red wine, as usual, when we are out and
about in town. There are no cars in this street and children are free
to fool around, I look at them and wonder what the future holds
for them now that the world is about implode. When they are only
allowed to express an opinion that is the norm. Should they fall foul
of this edict and, the powerful listens to their thoughts, they will be
pushed out as the spoilers and have only themselves to blame, for
not being submissive. And the new adults will be conditioned to
have no mercy for losers of this sacred joke of an evil democracy.
But the edifice of human greed will fold one day, nature will see to
that, reek destruction that few humans will survive. So play now
little ones tomorrow has nothing to offer but the suffering caused
by your antecessors who willfully took his pleasure and left you to
suffer the consequences.

The Beauty of South Africa

The Capital Pretoria found in the Gauteng Province,
holds the Voortrekker Monument located on a hilltop-
Made of pure granite it was built in nineteen forty-nine,
all the tourists are intrigued to take a look and stop.

The most common language in South Africa is isiZulu,
it is spoken by most of the country’s population-
The warmth of the country can be overbearing,
bordered by the Atlantic, it’s a subtropical location.

Stellenbosch is a university town in Western Cape province,
surrounded by vineyards and a mountainous steeple-
Oak-shaded streets lined with café’s and boutiques,
there are art galleries and little shops for the town’s people.

The Western Cape is also the home of The Garden Route,
Paarl is the largest town in the Cape Winelands destination-
The Cape of Good Hope overlooks the majestic Dias Beach,
the chameleon waters flow from God’s wonderful creation.

South Africa’s beauty shines throughout the Earth,
making it a home to many, giving the world much worth.

As Memories Fade

Excitement waits
A week on an island vacation
Shopping boutiques and antique stores
Visiting Art galleries
Dinning and enjoy the entertainment
With no cell phones
Slowly escaping
Away from the everyday life
To lull
On the sandy beach
Slowly escaping
Strolling barefoot
Feeling the wet soaking sand
And the cool ocean breeze
Watching the consolations
That is out of reach
Listening to the serenity
Of the night tease
Being entertained
With sounds of the waves,
Shrill of the seagulls, and
Roar and barks of the sea lions
As memories fade
To reteach and reveal who I am
Not wanting to go back to reality
Golden days to remember

Walt Disney Days

I remember the exclusive Walt Disney days,
We used to travel there with our parents.

Stayed at a beautiful timeshare Limetree, Sarasota.
Then we visited the Walt Disney kingdom.

Father Dr. Wolf would drive us there,
We bought tickets for Walt Disney world.

Our parents were just the nicest parents you could know,
There was a parade when you came to visit.

They had many activities, my recollection of those days is limited.
Many nice boutiques, I purchased two T shirts for Kirk and Erik,our sons.

We would walk along the white sandy beach and collect sea shells,
Then we would travel to St. Armands on the bus for twenty-five cents.

We dined at the exclusive harbor restaurant and the hotel restaurant,
Our mother and father used love to take us dinning.

Our timeshare was right on the beach,
You could walk for hours, what a beautiful sunrise and sunset each day.

Corner Grocery

Urban legend now bared to the bone
Yet its trademark can no larger store clone
No glossy signs, spacious lots fealty to hone
But in colloquial parlance a tradition has grown
Larger Discount stores with dignity stand alone
Corner grocery, its squalid tenement doth bemoan
Manicured plots, concentric lots posh boutiques tone
Corner mart encased in fragile clapboards; skyscrapers of stone
Dilapidated phone booth anchors the curbstone
Squeaky door, bristling bell on entry doth groan
Large retailers, in furnished bakeries bake cakes, fancy scones
Mom and Pop, in one-stove kitchens; yeast rolls, cornbread pone
Serious browsers in large retailers with oversize carts spendthrift prone
At corner store, single-minded shoppers poach sustenance, then are gone
Large franchise with hefty profits and in fertile market sown
Corner grocer in depressed neighborhood; indebted to Savings & Loan

Independence Day

Beachfront condos shrouded in the early mist
of morning. Seagulls hanging on the breeze,
their screeching waking sleepyheads
before their coffee, it's July the 4th,
the holiday is here!

Sailboats daubed in milky opalescence
growing clear, as sunlight nibbles at the sea wall.
Artists set their easels, hot dog vendors
primed and waiting, T-shirt boutiques
ready for the avalanche.

Parking-lots are full, it's getting hot now.
Suntanned beauties modeling string bikinis
scramble for position.
"Let's get the best spot on the beach!"
they cry, toting towels and frisbees to the sand.

Flags and beer are peddled in profusion,
smells of barbecue and pizza fill the air.
Suntan oil for those who need it,
all those fair-skinned redheads seeking
rest and refuge from the blazing sun.

Painters competing for the famed Grand Prize,
trying to catch the essence of the ocean.
Could be the next Monet! Muted pastels
smeared on canvas. Hold on, Claude,
you'd best not give up your day job!

Para-gliders soar in gay abandon,
floating through the sky like eagles hovering
they lay it on the line. You ask me,
it's sheer recklessness,
all those crazy people cheating gravity!

Musicians making ready for the concert,
violins and tubas tuning up.
People find their beach chairs
and get comfortable to listen
to the melodies of vintage Broadway songs.

And then the fireworks - woosh, boom, crackle! -
shock the heavens with their iridescent light.
'The Star-Spangled Banner.' Couples cuddle
up in blankets to watch the rockets
paint the sky 'Red, White and Blue!'

They make their way contented to their cars,
young and old alike loved the festivities.
Stop to get some Rolaids, (too much pizza,
fun and frolic!) but the day will last forever
in their memories.

Fashion Days

My father Dr. Wolf was a fashion director,
Since then I have liked beautiful fashions.

Once he brought my mother and i a coat,sweater and skirt combination,
A beautiful blue jay colored dress with a rainbow collar.

Combining a pretty dress with jewelry,
Slacks and tops that are compatible.

I think that has taken me a long time to assimilate,
When I was married, there wasn't much time to think of fashions.

As a divorced woman I took a great interest in dressing fashionably,
These were my Parents Without Partners years.

I even dreamed of becoming a performer,
To dress fashionable, I had a photographic session.

As a senior I have kept my somewhat slim figure,
I even thought of becoming a fashion model.

Now we have lovely fashion boutiques,
Where you could purchase lovely fashions.

I always say each day is a fashion parade,
To be enjoyed by the good neighbors.

Wealth Got In the Way

The girl was from a wealthy home,
And he was very poor,
They both were told they shouldn't wed,
But thought their love was sure.

The boy was raised in poverty,
And she, with silver spoon,
And people told them they should wait,
But they were wed in June.

Now, he had naught of worldly goods,
But had a heart so true,
The man was, oh, so very poor,
But loved her through and through.

At first his love was quite enough,
She needed nothing more,
But little did she understand,
The things that were in store.

For she was used to pretty clothes,
And cars so long and sleek,
But now she shops in discount stores,
Instead of fine boutiques.

Yet spending money was her thing,
But he could not provide,
And though he worked both night and day,
She stayed up nights and cried.

For he was once her everything,
But wealth got in the way,
And though she loved this working-man,
She knew she could not stay.

Now she is back where she has wealth,
Inside her parent's home,
Where they provide her luxury,
But she is all alone.

She wonders why she left the boy,
Who offered so much more,
Than pretty clothes and fancy cars,
And things from boutique stores.

She lives in wealth-like poverty,
And knows she's destitute,
Of love that's worth its weight in gold,
Because of wealth's pursuit.

Trivia Night

Trivia Night

I follow every backroad and freeway to see where they lead
And I look to the pages learned people read
I look at all the flea market uniquities and antiques,
And the things they’re liquidating at the chains and boutiques
Wandering from the courtyards to the streets
I seek both patterns and something I haven’t already seen
I read all the footnotes to all the entries in the reference row
I look up all the words, allusions, and phrases foreign people know
Hoping to shriek more articulately
So someone will come get me.
I listen to all I can tune in on the dial
I read articles in today’s file, looking for the truth among the ruins in the pile,
But all I want to know is if Anne Frank still believes in mankind.
And if I just knew that, it would be worth everything I’ve learned to find
Maybe it’s the one thing I might never learn;
An insight nobody can earn or deserve
And I may never get ahead of the game
Or worse, I’ll find out it’s all the same; it’s just arbitrary rules to blame
Just another answer on trivia night.
But it doesn’t keep me from this plight,
I may find it one day, I cling to a slight chance there,
That it will be more than worth it all if just that one answer I might realize
Even if there isn’t a prize.

I'Ll Always See You

Poet:  Ken Jordan
Poem:  I'll Always See You
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written:  June/2015

I
see
your Silhouette

aglow
in
the night -

and

Your
mystic shadow
In
every
dawning light -

You're
In
my heart

and

In my
soul -

I see you
in
places

where we
have
gone,

the
beach
down the
road;

Quaint
boutiques,

and

Broadway
shows -

I
may walk
along
some street,

and

see
many faces
in
the crowd,

But,
your beautiful
face,

Is all
I
see -

You are
my
passion.....

You are
my
muse -

I'll always
think
of
you -

And

at the
end
of
each day,

when
the orange
 sky
fades away,

I
will see
you

in
the light
of
the moon -

You are
my
love,

I
see you
everywhere,

And

I know
that,

when our
life,

here on
earth
is
over,

I'll find
you
in
heaven,

and

our love
will
out last
time -

I'll
always
see you -

BONJOUR, MA CHÉRIE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Val was a young French squirrel, a model quite chic
Who shopped at only high-end, fashion boutiques.
     Clerks greeted her, “Bonjour, ma Chérie!
     Vous avez l'air belle et aérée!”
“C'est vrai, mes peeps. Wearing Dior gives me a mystique.”
Val struck a pose, paparazzi's camera's flashed,
 For being in the limelight she was unabashed.
      With a slow turn and flick of her tail,
       “You’ll find me trending 24/7, where ‘likes’ prevail!
Look how many followers on Insta I’ve amassed!”
But then the unthinkable happened~
A vile act, a digital fate that had Val saddened.
     Poof! In an ‘instant,’ her ‘gram’ account vanished,
     For which her digital famish could’nt be vanquished
“Oh woe is me! My heart can no longer be gladdened."
“Lord a mercy, you’ve been hacked!” her publicist did exclaim.
 “Tell me, tell me! Who’s responsible for this digital pain?”
     “Must ‘a been a hacktivist, a cyber punk perhaps.
      Or….did you let your cyber protection app lapse?”
“Oh, no! Hastag #Bonjour,mypeeps, my digital claim to fame.”
