First time our eyes met, instantly I knew
Why red rose-buds are boasting a bloom
In fragrance of gardenia passing through
As scent of pink lilies meant only for you
Evoked conversation of romance for two.
When message of hearts blew in prairies
Words of desire carried a lyrical promise
Blowing in the winds melody of our music
Composing a song in harmony of dreams
Wooing you to declare, for you I'm falling.
I've heard about the allure you're feeling
For you speak to me as I'm daydreaming
Holding me captive, keeping me company,
Praising your name every thought's saying
It won't be long before you would own me.
Unknowingly I introduced you to my family
When in my sleep I spoke of you so fondly.
You must've heard the joy of their cheers
For I see you smiling, shedding happy tears--
As consent of your heart echoes in my ears.

Where forests stretched for miles, and Spirit Lake
lay at its foot, there stood a rebel peak.
One day the earth beneath began to quake.
What havoc Mother Nature was to wreak!
The tremors kept occurring till the day
two craters which had formed began to merge,
erupting ash. Wise folks left right away,
for that volcano soon would surely surge!
Some met their death that eerie Sunday morn
of May eighteenth. The deer began to flee.
Then from the mount, a burst of cloud was born -
a mushroom cloud which bellowed boisterously.
It grumbled and it rumbled, rocketing
for fourteen miles to sky its ice and ash.
Land slid. An avalanche was covering
all things within the path of its mad dash!
By 10:15, a wall of water rushed
down to the river, tearing up the trees
along with boulders as the ash still gushed.
Destruction had been wrought with greatest ease.
The news said Mount St. Helen’s lost her head,
and trees, like matchsticks, lay upon the ground.
Amazingly, despite such loss and dread,
there is new growth of beauty all around!

Once I talked to the wind that blew
Ignoring me, like a free bird it flew.
If the wind ever saw me I've no clue,
Surely it didn't appear in my view.
Softly then a breeze came through,
Could it be the wind I just spoke to?
Swirling, whirling, it whispered too
Hinting of romance scripted for two.
When dawn shined on morning dew
Amber desires on horizon it drew
In golden emotions on panoramic hue--
A portrait of love that beckoned you.
Beneath the canopy of cobalt blue
Roses bloomed, smiling as you do
Cheering your arrival, lilting to woo--
Wind that blew was dream come true.

I Remember Fierce Storm That Blew My Life Apart
I remember fierce storm that blew my life away.
Images burned into a sad, finely tortured mind;
reminds me of that epic and dark fateful day,
tears falling down but no good answers could I find.
So in love with my sweetheart but soon hope gave way,
when drug induced Nirvana flew into our home.
Easy now to see it in slow motion replay,
when I groped in darkness wherever I dared roam.
Raging clouds gathered within the uncertain West
as thunder spilled over into each haunting hour.
No joy in simply knowing that I did my best,
while I saw the destruction of my wild flower!
I remember fierce storm that blew my life apart.
Its massive crushing winds destroyed my aching heart.

The dark continent; a place of extremes
where the sun rises early and surprises me with its intensity.
In between can be found the stuff of life at every level,
whilst beneath my feet the red soil heaves with life
as the insect microcosm dashes about its business,
before the white heat commands them into the shadows.
All around, the vegetation stands tall and proud,
as if trying to be the first to touch the sun
and birdsong fills the heavy air
perfumed by the breath of exotic spices.
How can this be the dark continent
when every sight that blesses my eyes is brighter,
bolder, painted with brushes not of my earth?
yes, the skins are intensely black, blue-black
But when the smile which adorns every beautiful face
grins – and bursts open to reveal two perfect rows of pearls
the infection is passed to the viewer
who now sees only brilliant light
as the soul is finally revealed.
These people, wearied by poverty and bowed by blind politics
nonetheless walk tall and proud
as if trying to be the first to touch the sun
standing head and shoulders above
our stiff-necked dissatisfactory lives.
If Africa is the dark continent
then I am suddenly in love with blackness
and I fear for the dimming light
which bathes my homeland.

Ok you found the way
To my bleeding heart
Unlocked the door
Maybe love can start
Come inside
Take a look around
I will not hide
From the pain you found
The tears I cried
When you went away
I kept them inside
For this special day
So take a piece
If you like
Can’t cry no more
I’m cold as ice
Can you light the fire
Once again
Turn up the heat
For an old friend
Turn this spark
Into a flame
Until its roaring
And burns the pain
I said I loved you
But that didn’t count
You walked away
Said you had some doubts
But let’s be truthful
You saw another
It was in your eyes
You blew your cover

And the wind blew me away.
No more will I cry.
No more can you lie.
No more blood can be stripped from my veins.
I didn’t exist, I never really did.
All you think you know you can forget.
I’m not in your memory.
I’m not in your thoughts.
Don’t go mad, I’m not worth it.
Just remember, I’m not real.
You never got this.
I never wrote it to you.
Your smile can remain, because mine faded away.

She waved me off and then blew me a kiss,
As she slowly closed her door,
I remember thinking this was rather strange
For she had never blown me a kiss before!
It was the heart attack that took her life,
But at least her chest pains would be no more,
It was a neighbour checking up on her
Who had found her on the hallway floor.
She waved me off and then blew me a kiss,
As she slowly closed her door,
I remember thinking this was rather strange
For she had never blown me a kiss before!
I often wish I’d blown a kiss back to her,
As I’d driven off down the road,
For her little cottage lies empty now,
It is no longer my Mum’s abode.
She waved me off and then blew me a kiss,
As she slowly closed her door,
I remember thinking this was rather strange
For she had never blown me a kiss before!
And in my darkest imaginings
I can see tears forming in her eyes,
As she blew that final kiss to me,
Aware of her imminent demise …

Limerick: She blew topless on Sea Anne-Anne
She blew topless on Sea Anne-Anne
When her anchor sank in hurry-can(e)
Then quaked Nepal earth
No way to hide girth
Since wears smile and lets down her man(e).

Limerick
When the wind blew, the birds slowly lifted their eyelids from sleep's seducing spell
Slowly, they met their new day with a feeling no one could explain or tell
They fluttered their wings to welcome the sun’s obnoxious display
Gazing at the people sleeping behind the misty window’s frame
When the wind blew, the birds prepared to take off
To fly to destiny’s tasteful D’lush
To sing melodious tunes
As they brighten a person’s days
When the wind blew, one by one they flew
As they passed by the many houses’ window’s
A chronological sequence it may be
But a story is what it shall be
....
...
..
.
Long time ago, there, in the beautiful land of empathy, lived a lady and a gentleman
Together they took care of each other; together they raised a child as her life began
Every year, a bird passes by, as it sees the young girl in a different phase
Yesterday she was a child, but today she is beating destiny’s race
But, the one thing that never changed was her smile to the lady that:
Took care of her for the past umpteenth years
Held her close to her heart whenever she was in fear
Stayed by her side when in need
Now, the child grew up to tell her tale
To the birds who visited during the day
...
..
.
“I grew up in the hands of a golden mother who took care of me every second
She watched me as I grew up while I watched her shine every day
She smiled when I made her laugh, while I treasured the smile in my mind
She hugged me whenever I was in need of warmth, while I preserved her warmth
I cherish everything you did for me, dearest mother
And I thank you for every good seed you planted in me”
...
..
.
One day, the birds passed by and left a small letter on the mother’s desk
In it were the words the daughter described
In it were the dear thank you notes she left for her mother as she departed away…
....
...
..
.
When the wind blew, many objects changed
But, a dear mother's love always remains the same…

The Wind Blew Cold
The wind blew cold upon our faces,
we turned our heads towards the east eyeing a muted sun,
clouds in their weary way sagging, formless:
the moon resists it’s rising assent skyward.
Oh orb, on which we stand motionless in spin,
toss to our good graces a stitch of time,
that we may find solace in our vacant hearts, that throb outside our chests,
exposed to the elements of desire.
The prayers to hope, that fall from our tongues,
loosed in the mind, where neuro-chatter reigns as noise,
heave sighs of wanting, deep cries and cravings long,
the cold wind burns sharply against our skin, our faces recede.
The lonely tracks that follow our footsteps radiate golden,
a heavenly chorus of slighted souls weep aloud,
your hand, cool with perspiration glides over to mine
such an embrace is felt intensely, in silence and in awe.
Eaten up in smiles, as wordless thoughts laugh quietly
it’s a meal of granola bars and fruit splayed on a table
water and tea wash away the throaty remnants of food
as our eyes keep tabs on just what lies behind the surface.
Not much in the way of small talk falls here
but the words of repeated reassurances comfort
we walk amongst the cars, the garage reverberates
our eyes and ears attuned to our voices in space.
There is a burning in our hearts of things undone
love spills over the edge of our thoughts and sighs
we remain in our niche, an adventure we crave
our friendship is one that has thrown us far afield, untouched.

Gramps, then snorts some of his snuff
One loud sneeze; the hen’s in the buff
