Premium Member I Beat Up the Sun

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The law is not against such things. Galatians 5:22-23

I BEAT UP THE SUN

The sun is finally coming up. I beat it up
with my hands, hammering the tablet
and my eyes darting back and forth

as if I were an old-fashioned carriage
on a typewriter. Reading my friends
before cockcrow. Gears, spinning,

pushed and pulled me out of bed.
Galatians scripture meditation
off a tooth. Reading to get it right.

Proverbial pen bleeding ink as I think
about the long, long day ahead, filled
with pounding, staining, sustaining,

amusement of midnight colors, lights
in the church windows, all else stark
begging for a good night’s sleep. Deep,

I shall dream in the morning, as I set
sail, way past the sun. But alas,
it will not be so, for coffee clashes

with that ship called friendship, so
I will pour myself out of bed, clean up
a bit, stir in cream, motivate myself

into believing I can do it all. Light
in the church window will create a smile,
because I put it there; true of snow

and the stars, too. I can do anything
as long as I get a grip on the day. Fruit
of the Spirit, all nine - a healthy feast.

My Poor Beat Up Truck

My poor beat up truck,
we've had quite a muck,
for when we got stuck,
you made such a ruck.

My poor beat up truck,
we went threw much,
getting hit sucked,
and had to pay such.

My poor beat up truck,
sitting all alone,
sitting there stuck,
looking like a bone.

my poor beat up truck,
cant go around,
stuck in the ground.
Now driving in a car,
just not far,
from getting My Poor Beat Up Truck.

I Got Beat Up

There I was seeing this Girl
We were both married having a thrill
We met at her house all the time
But she was too scared to meet at mine

There we were in the shops
Even on a farm among the hops
We where hooked, enjoying, we could not stop
Even at a red light being watch by a cop

Then one day I pulled up at her home
I see another man walk in with a chrome dome ( Bald head)
She’s two timing me
Don’t worry she’ll see

So I text her hubby that his wife is cheating
So that could come back and give this man a beating
The man walks out carrying his tool bag
So I think to myself “Oh Sh-t my bad

I get out the car warn her of what I done
And maybe take her some where we can have some fun
She was forgave me thinking being jealous was cute
Till a heaving seven foot ox walked in with a size fifteen boot

How do you explain to an angry man, that you got it all wrong
When you can’t speak the lingo of the dangerous King Kong
With his wife in your arms doing the bump jive
The only thought in you head is how the f-ck do I survive

Well let me tell you this from my hospital bed
Never describe the man if you both have bald heads
I never intended it to turn out this way
Sorry the morphine is kicking in so have Ahhh a nice day

My Love Can Beat Up Your Love

With a new world in the making
Positively no mistaking
No need for hesitating
With no line and no waiting

Welcome to the new world order
Closed minds with open borders
What have we done to our sons and daughters
We'd call someone who cares but we've run out of quarters

A generation made up of nip and tuck
Using the government as a living crutch
With no if's and's or even but's
My love can beat up your love

Peace, love, and understanding
Never before has been so demanding
Play the laughter track the networks are caning
In the meantime, enter the sandman

To sleep off the thoughts that differ from you
Without a care if they are or if they are not true
It won't change your mind one iota or clue
Where under the sun there's nothing new

You can kick and scream all you want
We know you know you know how to cuss
No if's and's or even but's
My love can beat up your love

It's a Bad Idea To Beat Up David Banner

I used to be a bully who had really bad manners.
I learned that it's a bad idea to beat up David Banner.
He turned into the Hulk who was green.
It was the scariest thing I've ever seen.
He picked me up and threw me through a door.
I decided then and there not to be a bully anymore.
I was so frightened and it was too much to bear.
After it was over, I had to change my underwear.
The Hulk was so big and frightening that he made every woman in the room faint.
I later learned that it wasn't the Hulk at all, it was just Lou Ferrigno covered with green paint.

(This poem was inspired by The Incredible Hulk TV show which I'm a big fan of.)

Premium Member My Beat Up Song

I should have
I wish I had
I could have
But I didn’t.
My beat up song.

I should have
I wish I had
I could have
But I didn’t.
My beat up song.

The one I began singing
After my mother passed.
I should have visited her more often.
I wish I had known she was dying.
I could have been there for her.
But I didn’t know, and I was not there.
My beat up song.
