Best Bay Poems
I feel your pain like it was mine
Having an ability to see your soul
If you hurt and can't speak
Sit here with me for I am fluent
in silence
And if your ghosts from the past
leave you sleepless then know that
I will be there to watch over you
taking the first shift so
Sleep will go undisturbed
Our tragedy in life is not death
but what we let die inside of us
Remember that you do not
only live once
we die once but we live everyday
we only need one friend
who will be there for
us always regardless
keeping our ghosts at bay
when we feel we can't go on
To allow us to rest when
we are too weak

Beside the rustic harbor stands a lighthouse on a hill
It keeps a watchful vigil o’er the waters deep and still
At night the harbor waters shine almost as bright as day
And nothing is as beautiful as moonlight on the bay
The shores stretch out their golden arms along the rugged land
The waters seem to sing and dance across the golden sand
A cool and salty ocean breeze blows softly through my hair
As tiny sparkling water droplets gently fill the air
I stand next to the water's edge and listen while it sings
The water seems to know the gentle comfort that it brings
I long to have you at my side beside the shining sea
While list'ning as the water brings your image back to me
Though we are very far apart I still can see your smiles
As the water whispers soft and sweet across the many miles
I hear your sparkling laughter and it softly seems to say
“I love you”, and it fills my heart like moonlight on the bay
She whispers, ‘Stay’
yet I find myself heading toward the bay
I start with a hike though the woods
if only the way I knew I could
And then the marshes to soak my feet
I’m on my way to a divine treat
And then there is the entrance to the bay
So little time to release what I have to say
To immerse myself up to my neck
In cooling waters, oh what the heck
It’s late at night and I see the stars
Will they wish me goodbye so near or far
I hold glimpse to the waxing moon
My spiritual turnover is coming soon
Will she miss me my darling love
We were soulmates attached from above
I hear the ghostly fisherman’s bell
And now it’s time for me to go to hell
Don’t cry for me today
It was just an outing to the bay
First rays splash lines of love
across naked bits of detour
dawn's door distracts
chills of the night dissipate
and I am free
Free of fight
held hostage ever tight
First rays flash and I see :
yellow bits of honey dripped
scarlet tanager at play
horizons filling out the day
Darkness held at bay__
Here they are before me,
surreal in the dazzling morning sun.
Against clear skies of blue, and
peaked snow-capped mountains-
these tall glaciers of Alaskan ice,
stand heavenly before my eyes.
Their marbled, glistening whites,
with multi shades of blue,
arcane crevices and jagged peaks-
stir visions of cold, ghost-like forms
that glare at me in this mysterious Bay
of murmurous creaks and moans.
More than the eye can see,
these lustrous glaciers speak,
like eerie, moving forms,
in corridors that shift and moan-
and with their loud sonorous wails,
give birth- calving chunks that fall.
With an abrupt, roaring explosion,
all at once, it starts- the large,
calved segment plummets to the sea.
Waves and splashes follow every birth.
These exotic glaciers live and speak-
more than the eye can see.

Explosion of light
Pooled the bay with reds and gold
Catching fishermen.
Echoes in the night at Half Moon Bay
In the stillness of the night, I can still see fireflies dancing
in the shadow of firelight,
seems like they're dancing in time
with the rolling of the waves,
here in Half Moon Bay
I can still hear Grey Owls hooting,
and the loons crooning their tune
a nocturnal duet of night rangers,
calling out in the wild summer night
here in Half Moon Bay
It was 1974, we were young,
and wanted everything and more
we were eye witnesses ,to summers splendor
and participants in pleasures sweet surrender
Spending our summer days, swimming in Half Moon Bay
dancing in the sand with friends
wishing days and nights like this,
would never ever end
Listening to CCR, and Blood Sweat and Tears
I still remember those happy days,
and the echoes in the night
at Half Moon Bay...
after all these years.

#YouandMeandHimandHerAndThemAndUs
A subtle march hush saddles the valley
whilst dawn’s reveille is the seagulls call
staid water’s brim against ancient galley
once flew the ensign how the mighty fall.
For here she lie ‘o’ top of salty graves
where wretched souls ne’er see another day
their silver horizon the restless waves
that howls the sirens song of doubtful bay.
Long gone the storm the cries of emotion
of those whom hankered for a better life
yet still the tempest doth rule the ocean
to take at will the rights of man and wife.
Gone the prisoners of her majesty
damned to the colonies over the sea
the bay holds no bars grants them amnesty
their spirits to roam the ocean floor free.
There’s no one left to wail or shed a tear
to pen a shanty of that tragic hour
nor weave a poem of hysterical fear
build a monolith a marble tower.

Releasing the rigid anchor line
Leaving the safety of land in our wake
Warm July zephyrs filling the sails
Resting even hands upon the tiller
As the bow broken waves drift slowly aft
Herring Gulls night songs hang as we pass
Violet clouds drifting in pinkish bronze dusk
Outlining the schooner adrift on the horizon
Dancing rhythm of the Highland Lighthouse
Gifts a moment of wine warmed lips fervor
Alone with the lights from distant headlands
Their essence illume the crests softly breaking
Gently swaying the craft in warm foamy brine
Faint guitar moments with my voice uninhibited
Evoking past memories of love on the Atlantic
Aspiration caught whole in the sail as we lay
A fearless embrace in the ethereal darkness
Of midnight on Massachusetts Bay sails…
Ouzo, oh ouzo, can make your head verily spin
But it made me feel like I was morphing into Aphrodite's twin!
And, more potent were your eyes stare and long eyelashes.
Dancing the Greek soldiers dance, OPA and in proud sashes.
Decades down life’s river, in the boat of life, we are one .
I close my eyes, still humming ‘Thessaloniki” loud and strong.
In a blue and white colored dream, I still caress your hand,
As we did long ago to a taunting, lively Bozouki band.
I shall blow out the gardenia candle and say good-night,
Loving you was, and is, forever~my soul’s precious delight..

I sat in a porch rocker and looked
Watching star bursts of wonder
Sparks with flair in the evening sky
Streams of light moving in splendor
So beautiful one must say, “oh my!”
I sat in a porch rocker and looked
As the grand orchestra played away
Sweet melody makes me give a sigh
Music and light blending a display
Horns and trumpets blasting high
I sat in a porch rocker and looked
Watching fireworks over the bay
Music rocking with soft thunder
Such a sight for ending a fine day
A celebration without a blunder
I sat in a porch rocker and looked!
