On a Ballroom of Stars

When I feel alone
a gypsy soul without a home

When nobody 's there
with warmth to share
When rattling rains are all I hear

I close my eyes and take a ride
On sugar-coated clouds
I travel far to where you are.
Far from a frosty afternoon
One step closer to the moon.

I fly up high to a blue -black sky
Removing Her with all my might.
I push away the lady in today
To seek and find a happy child
A happy girl that's trapped in me
Still wanting to break free.

A girl who lives inside
Still struggling to survive.

I close my eyes and take a ride
One step closer to the music
that's playing on my mind.
Closer to late- fireworks
burning in the night.
An orchestra in concerto
and a piano by my side.

I fly up high to a blue black sky
I dance above with the prince of love
With wide-spread wings just like a dove.

These waiting cheeks
These open arms
Young Ballerina waltzing
On a Ballroom of spumed stars.

Just a fantasy song inspired by the movie Lalaland.

Ballroom Lust

Her red dress
Pressed
To that beautiful black skin,
She looks like a forest fire
Racing up a mountain top

Burning up

She cannot stop
Her wild curves
Engulfed in flames.

She smolders
In a corner
Of the ballroom,

My eyes,
Like two emptied water glasses
On a tray,

Gliding by
On the shoulder
Of a much younger waiter.

I douse myself by melodious waves of music
As he maneuvers me into his gracefulness
Clasps of our hands draw my ebullience like magic

In ecstasy, feet slide to and fro to express
The pleasure at ritzy hall in ballroom delight
Huge array of lights shimmers on our gala dress

Oh, I am sheer brought to the crest of his limelight!
He sways me and turns, our balancing pays the price
Wearing my confidence in the spectator’s sight

I can feel every beat with his most sumptuous spice
His perfume wafting on air, I’m more than alive
Clutching back our body close, great passions arise

All in delighted spirit, convivial grace thrives
Ballroom dancing paints the beauty where love survives

-	In honor of Victor Gabriel Gilbert, a great painter and artist.
I like him so much and his masterpiece.
Imagining to dance with him in consummate ease:)

Ballroom Delights

We are swept in the whirl of gowns twirling around
In the glow of glass lights shining down from each wall
While I dance with his hand holding mine, the sweet sound
Of the music brings joy to my heart held in thrall.

My silk gown flows with glistening colors of blue
And I see other ladies in pink and soft white
While the lights from above accent folds that imbue
Like soft colors of petals in moonglow at night.

As we dance on the floor that reflects like a pond
The soft shadows of couples revolve like pale ghosts
Every sway and each turn move with grace to respond
To the magical music enjoyed by their hosts.

Up above I now see the most brilliant of glows—
Chandelier, like a burst of bright sun rays, hangs high
On the ceiling above, arced, with paintings, it shows
Luminescence that captures my heart with a sigh.

The tall mirrors reflect this most glorious scene
As I dance with my lover in graceful wide turns
The charm doubles the beauty of all that is seen…
While the music plays on…I get lost in return

To my feelings of why I am here this sweet night
As his arm holds me tighter, to closer embrace
My heart beats with the magic of love’s warm delight…
We are swept in the whirl of our hearts interlaced.

Ballroom Delights

At the Parisian Ball

wrapped in finest gowns

of virgin-snow, sugar-rose

and washed-out pistachio pastels

The hour-glass shapes

 with tied narrow waists

waltzed with gallant men

togged up in midnight-dusk tails.

Victorian ladies in frilly petticoats

and gossamer laces

swirled in delicate silks

Lifting their pretty faces

to crystal candelabras

to ceilings'baroque paintings

and to the chattering sounds

of the gathering crowds.

From the half-opened pantry door

She listened to the music

which played melodically all night.

In her simple black dress

nude stockings,white apron and cap

Solo,She danced, with the light of the moon

which was glowing so bright.

Her slender hips swayed

in a flirtatious curve

Wishing...Dreaming

to get a glimpse of his world.

Through the mirror on the wall

She saw him standing tall

As he danced with his noble mademoiselle

Through the mirror on the wall

He saw her standing small

He caught her reflection

young love and affection

Yet,He kept standing there.

She swore She could feel it

The longing,the feeling...

It was written all over his eyes

He never got closer

His princedom can't own her

But She knows She's the one

She is that little star

which keeps falling so softly

in his cold vacant skies.

Here on the dance floor ready to begin.
My turquoise sequined gown
just meets my shin.

I love the feathered boa that
encircles my neck.
I look as stunning and bright as
moonlight on a ships deck.

And you, yes, you my Prince of Dance,
so divine.
With lifted, chin, suave hair, long tailed
tuxedo and on your back, number nine.

We will do each step, swirl with touching,
utmost, regal elegance.
And after we win the trophy, we happily
shall indulge in divine decadence.

It was a nice romance, she loved to dance
to the music's beat, but I had two left feet
The circumstance made us take a chance
And we enrolled for ballroom lessons.. (sweet)

I gave it a try and by and by
I began gliding across the floor
My confidence was high
I learnt tango, cha-cha, and many more
We practiced still when we were home
The Christmas Ball was near
These steps we honed for the ballrooms dome
To prepare for this elegant affair

In tux and gown we left the house
To the Ballroom we did go
Where others gathered with their spouse's
 To glide to rhythms flow
The Ballroom grandeur was something to behold
With lofty ceilings, and decorations ornate
Perhaps to match the dancing that would unfold
My nervous feet couldn't wait

In rhythmic grooves we made the moves
 In motions to and fro
To cha- cha steps, latin flavors flowed
The rumba wooed, as rhapsody behooved
We slid with grace to tangos pace
As I held her close to me
Our hearts raced, our souls embraced
As we became one with the melody

The Ballroom dance was such delight
As we dipped and twirled in movements quick
To trip the light fantastic
A waltz came on, we danced it slow
But it was late and we had to go
But we could have danced all night

In the Ballroom

Gliding, waltzing 'round the floor
with your true love is not a chore,
brings back those memories of yore.
You know the score! You know the score!

A dip, a swirl or fancy step,
it all enhances dancing rep.
Practice! Practice! so no misstep.
You just must prep, you just must prep.

Now you can take your rock-and-roll
and drop it in a great big hole.
Ballroom dancing, that is my goal.
Good for the soul. Good for the soul.

The orchestra was loud when I walked in,
Performing a whimsical waltz by Strauss.
I picked a group of friends and settled-in,
And perused the fineries of the house.
The chandeliers were unevenly spaced,
Creating random spaces of shadows
Where intimate strangers chastely embraced,
And not-so-innocent virgins caroused.
A friendly acquaintance introduced me
To his available little sister.
Turned out she was charming and quite lovely,
So I gave up trying to resist her.
“I would be most honored, beyond measure;
If you’d care to dance, it’d be my pleasure.”

Ballroom Delights

With an earnest smile he asks me to dance
He is as nervous as I, I can judge by his stance
He glides me the floor and we began to prance
His distinctive manly smell puts me into a trance

His hand encircles my waist as our feet take flight
My breath sharply quickens, is my corset tied to tight
I fit perfectly his arms despite differences in height
I know my life will be forever changed this very night

Our hands clasped together, his eyes locked with mine
Electric shocks felt everywhere, definitely a tell-tale sign
"I love your teal blue dress", he says, "you look divine"
"And your lips fascinate me they are the color of wine"

"Thank you kind sir", a sudden blush reddens my face
With a grin he twirls and dips me with amazing grace
He reaches for my hair tie and releases it from the lace
"Your undeniably beauty madam truly lights up this place"

I smile for I know that he is equally smitten and sincere
We dance through the night, just wanting to stay near
He whispers, "I want to dance with you forever my dear"
Undoubtedly I know we'll be dancing like this year after year

Ballroom Dance

graceful dips and an elegant leap
intertwined arms and no time for sleep
then it starts with the classic lindy hop
to end the dance with the quick stop drop

finally what everyone wants
for the other dances were only taunts
to the majestic dance with no faults
the one and only, the glorious waltz

couples twirl, couples spin
feeling the music sing within
the pianos pursue, the violins chase
the maestro conducts with near perfect grace

the ball gowns and skirts look like colored clouds
and bring color to the dancing crowds
men look sharp in their black and white suits
that match perfectly with their crisp, shiny boots

as the sky grows darker and out come the stars
no one bothers to go off to their carriage cars
so still the music goes carrying on
no one wanting to be gone

though soon it becomes that time
when the bells have started over their chime
and shoes have grown worn out
so the people begin to fadeout

thus the ball is done with
the next to be on the fifth
but smiles still remain
the memories refusing to abstain

so everyone sleeps with joy
every single girl and boy
repeats what happened in their heart
the music refusing to depart

To the Bank and Ballroom Delights

To The Bank And Ballroom Delights

Right here right now explosions!... excited fuses!... Bombs going off!
In the back ally by the river bank
History rising to gun shots, balloons and music
Too fast to stop as something goes off
Ballroom dancing in the dark next door
Stumbling into the bank
Alarms going off. Shots going off. Babies screaming for a change
Drinks in three or more hands or so it seems
A little blurred and fuzzy on the scene
Music blaring, people dancing
Yellow wall flowers flying off the walls
Exploding, floating on the edges
With my sweetie peach we dance all night
In hand in flight over silver lights, flashing reds overhead
Music rocks history to death in the speed of numbered steps
Caresses of my baby warm against the flesh
Power drums pounding at the door of love
Feels so real, moving slowly, growing into building rhythms
Primordial religions spinning on in joy
Tearing yellow flowers off the walls
Hurricane bands of magic raining down on clouds of love
Enhancing, advancing on the living floor
Holding on to dear life, my sweetie pie and I
Guns in our pockets as we rock
We came to rob a bank
Where did it go
Someone pointed to outside
Next to the disco tech is the ballroom dancing hall
By the river bank next door

Ballroom Doom

A shroud of dark and eerie gloom
Hangs over the static ballroom
In the air, the scent of too-strong perfume
On the floor, glass swept by a little old broom

An end has come to every game
The paint paper man is trapped in his frame
Behind the glass, his head hangs in shame
Cards fallen off tables, the forks all aflame

With feminine fingers unfurled, there she lies
All signs of life drained from the blue of her eyes
Lips are just parted, holding back "why?"s
But it was too late; she had met her demise

A gunshot to the head
Was it something she'd said?
Guests fled as she bled
Found doors locked, seas of red

And the dancers all screamed
As the man bled them out
The musicians' eyes gleamed
With tears full of doubt

But yesterday's over
And we're left with the mess
Of events that wove her
Black funeral dress

Ballroom Delights

The ballroom looked inviting
as I stood at the entrance door
the lights were brightly shining
from the ceiling to the floor

The music filled the air
as couples danced the waltz
all men looked debonair
in their well made tuxedos

I lingered for a while
before entering the room
to calm my nerve I smiled
as I sprayed on my perfume

This night's going to be fun
I reminded and told myself
as I looked around and scanned
searching his familiar face

And then I saw him standing
by the wall beside the door
oblivious to the dancing
going on at the dance floor

His face lit up in smile
as he saw me walking in
I felt a hundred butterflies
as I smelled his musky scent

He took my hand and whispered
"what took you so long to arrive?"
"the ball has already started
and we have to dance all night."

I said, "sorry to keep you waiting
it took me hour to prepare
to look my best for this dancing
as I know you would be here"

Without much ado we glided
to the Mexican tango we danced
my heart was beating fastest
as the mood took us in a trance

We swayed and pranced on and on
as the music kept on playing
from tango, rumba, foxtrot to waltz
till our knees felt like giving

It was a night to remember
filled with ballroom delights
that happened in that summer
in that warm and balmy night
