Premium Member The Guise of Blue Jay Skies

F l y i n g

a sailing tailwind
in cerulean streams
through creamsicle colored beams -
are wings reflective of turquoise truth
and white purity
of Autumn’s ether -

he aviates
a clear troposphere
riding an unbridled
capricious and combative
boreas
on the cusp
of a new season

with a plumage infusion
of shifting Cape Cod skies
the blue jay mixes hues
with the Northern azure
that fades to shades
of turmoil
to the South and East -
becoming lost
in its milky breadth..
its lilting light..
its dimming depths..
where the edge of rustic rural
meets the sandy ridge of conifers - crooked
twisted and back-bent
from gales
of salt-sprayed sorcery

bold bluster
leading the charge
of a cold sapphire crest
is bedeviled
by the raw
tongue-lashing spin
of a brooding onshore flow
twirling
a brewing brawl -
whirling
in slate pearlescent space -
s w i r l i n g
with the dusky feistiness
of stormy petrels..
mobs of darkening fog
fatten
on summer’s fainty surrender —
leftover tints of tender cornflower
and hints of dainty dove..

there’s a sparkle
in the eye of the storm..
his mischievous black gaze
mirrors
the harsh harbinger
of commotion
clash and change --
his piercing “jay-jay” jabs
the maddening mayhem
of menacing air
with the emerald-needled sharpness
of wind-weary pitch pines
anchoring
the beige of coastal dunes

where his refractive blues
take cover
in colorful contrast

ahead
of the bruising
October nor’easter

Premium Member Sea Pearl

I'm fifteen darkwater dreaming or drowning
adrift and alone on the ocean of the bathroom floor
tossed on tidal waves of pain pearled with perspiration
a clattering clutch of shells contracting
shingle shushing stifled shrieks
the shucked shell of my womb
emptying like an oyster snared
by umbilicals of seaweed Far away
hazy-faint through saltwater mists I see
a little pearl glistening floating and rocking in red sea

I'm all at sea without anchor on tides a boat floating free
seeking a mooring in the harbour of the doctor's consulting room
her voice a deep dive anchoring me with subtle sympathy
through muffled underwater sounds sea-shadowy fog shawling me

I want to tell her about the dream submerged stories of a tiny pearl
maroon-mangled and foam-spangled slipping slowly from me
into scarlet sea drifting away sinking to darkwater depths

Driving home my mother's rings clink like shells against the steering wheel
and a shaming sea of silence fills the car pretty shells shucked and shocked

Laughing Atmospheres

Laughing Atmospheres

It floats in the morning dew
Settles with diamonds
On cobwebs who
Catch dreams on their threads

The sensual quiet of dawn
Imbues
The grass blades are whispering
To the sifted chanting
Of being One

In a glittering pool
The sea
Dances every possibility
Day bright answers to the
Begun
Shafts brilliance of the sun

Calling loud
With its perpetual anthem
Loud call
To the rest of the world

And here it comes

The daybreaks begin
Leaping from my chest
It seems
Rushing to laughing atmospheres
Peaks
On white bathed angels
Wings expand

Sends me out
Higher than the light
In my eyes

Gathering to the quintessence
Point
The beating monument
Of my heart
Single holds on to intense
Shudders delight
Through every sense

I am soaring skies

I see her eyes

I
Left unbound to the anchoring ground
I
Hear the word
The catapult of love
Universal soundings climax
Imparts
Beneath the eyes of God
When we both were created
As one

She holds my cheek
And the ghostly press
Of lips meet
I
Confess my soul
To the indomitable
Flow
Of love

And the orchestral designs of morning
Send this rockets emotive
Burning
Reaching
Powered to pinicles
In a cavalcade chords
Goes racing
Cavorting

Climbing every space
My spirit
Has loosed upon the chase
To its welcome home
For such an exuberant ride
All on its own
Takes it place
At her side

I

It is there
Where I belong
You see
Every atom
And concept of me
Has always been
Since God created us
Both
As one

Who Ate My Pizza

Johnny stutters when he's nervous
Gina skipped to school one day
Janice lost her favorite ruler
In the backyard yesterday

Where is my pizza
It was in the microwave
Someone came and ate it up
And left the crumbs right here

Corona virus spreading fast
Wash your hands and wear a mask
The weak will die the strong survive
We need to breathe to stay alive

Who took my pizza
I put it in the microwave
Someone greedy ate it up
Left the crumbs right on the bed

Stomp your feet and stand up proud
Clap your hands and pray...
We are the survivors
Survivors of a pandemic plague
Still roaming for victims
It's airborne infecting prey

Time is running out the door
Sun is setting on our shores
People come and people go
Love is all that's left to show

You're the one that's meant for me
The woman of my fantasies
I've set my sails on charted course
Soon I'll be anchoring at your port

Who ate my pizza
Someone will have to pay
Is it Gina, Janice or Johnny
Send delivery by the way

Who ate my pizza
It was in the microwave
Someone left an empty plate
The pepperoni's in my brain

My Citadel of Courage

I will not run from fear. Its torment I must shun,
when it threatens with distress and intimidation.
No song of despair will I sing when day is done,
nor will I cower, cringing with grim trepidation.

Though calamity assails me, I will not be alarmed.
Courage and faith will justly serve as my citadel
until the menacing enemies have been disarmed.
Then, in serene existence, once more will I dwell.

I will not burden my heart by anchoring it in grief.
Life should be a celebration, a mirthful affair,
but everything I fear will steal my joy like a thief.
I choose not to squander a minute in dire despair.

Death will not find me trembling on my knees,
for it's the dreaded price I must pay for mortality.
I will not plea with the Reaper, only to appease
him in granting me one more day before finality.

I will tend my garden on these hot Summer days,
and rejoice in knowing Autumn's chill draws near.
I will welcome Winter snows with words of praise,
and await Spring's arrival without anguish or fear.

Premium Member The Red Bow

The red bow was tied; a marriage dance
They fell in love at first glance
The groom and his novia—bride
Only knew what they felt inside
When two hearts who decide
The winding roads of life’s plight
Prevailing winds take flight
Blind faith takes its place
A muted warning of losing grace

Echos of freedom’s uncharted change
Anger, jealousy, and pride estrange
Unrequited lover’s inner challenge
A viper’s spiteful poisonous syringe

Coasting to a motionless throttle
Left only a note of evince in a bottle
Floating then anchoring deep in the ocean
The voyage ends, as does devotion
Dour hearts battles vincere
Never more to each other sincere
¿ Salvar el amor?
Betrothed no more
The sea breeze’s goodbye
The red bow is untied

Premium Member Palette of Poetic Musings

Without you my words are an unadorned poem. By poet.

At the edge of silence this soul screams,
unable to save the decaying flowers in her garden of deceit.
When her sadness is in love with me,
anchoring emotions weigh me down,
as cathartic metaphors reveal a labyrinth of tears.

In an unadorned monochrome world
hope floats from purple petals to ebony buds,
where a jaded heart is breathing to exist.
But If black wasn't a colour how would stars glow?
Would the marigold moon be forever invisible?
When grief is a guest how would we portray darkness?

Satan will always seduce scarlet poetry
inducing Lilith to dance in the ballroom of temptation,
where demons meet me in the wasteland of wicked souls,
but I've already drank from the fires of hell.
It's been a while since your rose darkened my garden,
so I search for pastures of poetic peace,
where idyllic dreams compose an effervescent melody.

Life is an endless journey of adversity,
I've become a king of trials,
engraving my seeds onto a tapestry of tulips.
I am my own warrior polishing a maroon mirror,
so I can sing with an orchestra of angels.
Those who judge my words,
say a rainbow will overflow into the shadows.
We are all petals of imperfection sharing the same sun,
envisioning vivid visions of verdant valleys.

My palette of poetic musings manifest
verses in revolving echoes of kaleidoscopic tones.
My blood flows through emerald ink veins,
in hues of burgundy bliss like blushed blue butterflies,
tangled in turquoise tranquillity,
yearning for serenity from a peach and rose sunset.

Destiny cries to the empress of the waves,
to adorn me in her effervescent treasure.
To kiss me in the cerulean bay of harmony,
under the shimmering of azure moonlight -
as miserable colours can only heal from her touch.

Premium Member God Cares For You

God cares* for you truly, more than I do
Offering His best from compassion’s heart
Dearest friend indeed; darling lover, too
Cheering with bliss He does impart.

Affection of His… warms our partnership
Refurbishing relationship’s strong cord
Enclosing us in His divine friendship
Securing our bond through prayer accord.

Faithfulness of the Lord keeps us intact
Ordering our steps for service ventures
Reaching out, sharing His gracious love’s pact
You and I are blessed in His green pastures.

Opulent in Christ’s caring wealth, I stay
Upholding you by faith’s anchoring way.

Solo

A gorgeous silence
fell on your departure,
air that once shimmered
ire and malice,
is now clear and free
and fit to be breathed, in

days were lost,
the minutes crept
into numb hours,
feet turned circles
into squares
dumb of what to do
where to go

the mind flooded
with vast arrays
of pictured thoughts,
emotions bubbled
to boil, then nothing,
blank screens
all the way round

anchoring self
onto a listing lull
instilled the sublime,
falling for the silence
and drifting into the
grace of peace

I find myself
beautifully solo

Children of Paradise

Heaven must yield to glory
Accept our orphaned children
Come light gentle bathe
These black forgotten corridors

Distorted images of death
Dance imperious before our eyes
Struggling to live right
Surviving the darkened dread

In the calm balm of amnesia
We float in carefree laughter
Defying the anchoring ache
Inhaling expectant death
Exhaling desired life

Walking the dichotomous path
Twinned joy and pain
Offspring at heaven’s door
Inheritors lost upon this earth
Seeking to reclaim the future

Bastard products of despair
We live in the dark alleys of history
The sunless realms of loneliness
The blind lanes of misery
Mystic impossibility
We claim divine birth rights

Watching deep into midnight
For the promised sunrise
Insipid timid reality
In disfigured disguise
Life is stone and bone
For the children of paradise

Premium Member Follow the Scent

Save rapture of bliss,
where nothing’s amiss,
no emotion should
free float like dead wood.

What then is the cause,
that puts joy on pause,
anchoring our mind
in fetters that bind?

Our organic form,
alive by blood warm,
driven by instinct,
is not yet love inked.

When not need but greed,
of ego we feed,
altered circumstance
is what monks call trance.

To be here now free,
head and heart agree,
following love’s vibe,
to thus bliss imbibe.

Premium Member Coconuts

On sandy beaches and along fertile riverbanks,
In fecund soil and in lush green plantations,
Coconut trees stand tall towering into the sky.
They are benevolent palms at the service of generations.

A coconut tree is a marvel of creation, every part of it can be used.
Its umbrella like crown of leaves shades us from sun.
Its circular, heavy cluster of fruits enrich our bodies.
From coconut husks, coir mats and ropes are spun.

The milk-white kernel inside the coconut shell,
Is used in curries, cookies and for extracting oil.
The water inside is a healthy, delicious drink.
Its vast net work of labyrinthine roots holds the loose soil.

Its sturdy trunk is used as a support for anchoring small boats.
Coconut shells in the hands of a craftsman turn into attractive curios.
Palm fronds are used for thatching small hovels and sheds.
Thus, from foot to crown, its uses and charms are various.

If one is stressed, it is therapeutic to de-husk a coconut.
It is a fine exercise and an ideal way to de-stress.
If angry with some one and wish to tear him limb by limb,
Break a coconut and it will take away all your noxious distress.

Still if you don’t feel comfortable and are with tingling nerves,
Scrape a coconut bit by bit and by the time you finish,
All your anger must have slowly gone as steam into air,
And in course of time, you will see it thoroughly vanish!

Premium Member Soul Slipper

Twilight downs the sun as dreams appear on the screen of sleep

Slips into the subconscious realm and trips a few fuses in slumber

Adapts and clears clutter and narrates and alters the story in kind

Strips and clips a mind full of sentience like an ad-blocking app

When dreams slip into a magical edition it proofreads my soul

In magic Morpheus tenders to soft renditions and rehearses

A new dawn for sanity’s sake and rearranges bedlam in silence

Ties new meaning to fake news and spins alignments afresh

Compounds and rearranges while the curtain slowly descends

A dress rehearsal in night gown patiently waits for the curtain

A sacred orange globe dances with ripples dissected by clouds

Ultramarine parades on the fading horizon of tangerine canvas

As the gatekeeper confers with clairvoyants and hobbling goblins

The mermaids charter the voyage with sea gulls and dolphin as they

Tie holy knots onto the tapestry of fabrication and spirited truths

Sometimes my aspirations and recollections call for clean slates

When charcoal rules anthracite waves draped in sombre veils

Or polychrome splashes beg to hold on to the palette forever

Sleep brushes over karma and vagaries and tames with a stroke

Of restful fortune in infinite renditions of what the future might hold

A life line appears on the horizon anchoring a courageous flare

Regardless of whether my journey explores a secret underworld

Or ships critique onto the blatantly obvious faults in the vessel

Poseidon pumps up the raft as tears and regrets rock the boat

Blows caution to the wind and advises to hold on for dear life

Neptune challenges his counterpart and weighs for good measure

Yet Atlantis refuses to sink and Nirvana sweeps the ocean’s floor

Phoenix gathers soaked ashes while jetsam jumps into the current

When the night parades its blessing the sun resets a new dawn

The moon watches over assorted memories baggage and hope
