Best Aimlessly Poems

Aimlessly Adrift

Disconnected from the people
and the things that I hold dear
On a course through time and space
I wonder what I'm doing here

Black miasma overwhelms me
paralyzing life and mind
I feel like I'm the piece that's missing
from a puzzle I can't find

Cold stagnation ever seeping
ever creeping in my soul
All my yearnings and my longings
keep me in this deep dark hole

With the knowledge that I'm drowning
in a pool of my own fear
Aimlessly adrift, I wonder
what the hell I'm doing here

Premium Member Walking Aimlessly

I am no longer hurt I’m numb

   Dead man walking

I can't feel a thing

   Dead man walking

Tears have dried up

   Dead man walking

I merely exist

   Dead man walking

Me and the Tin Man are the same

   Dead man walking

I am no longer here nor there

I’m simply a “Dead man walking “ aimlessly

Aimlessly Drifting

Gently flowing like a breeze
Trickling water so carefree

Not raging as a river flows
Just peacefully along it goes

Aimlessly drifting this tiny brook
Flowing softly through every nook

Not having a specific destination
Just longing for some appreciation

Passing through a forest of trees
Wildflowers and fallen leaves

Until at last it eventually meets
A mighty flowing stream or a creek

Arrggghhhhh Audacious Aardvarks Attack Aimlessly

an apology approaches awesome ambience
adverse advances amass at altars
academically aroused arcades are absolved

astonishingly abrupt adverbs articulate arduously
atlas awakens all around
arrggghhhhh audacious aardvarks attack aimlessly

Sailing Aimlessly

Light raft floating
                        drifting for a breeze
              Sailing aimlessly
        Going into nothingness
Yet drifting on a bed of certainty

                    Am I a  harbouring passenger
              OR a willing vessel
                             bobbing hither and tither
with the confidence of the waves

                 Whether willing or by direction
                       I steeped the ocean's floor
Whether I was cleaning or just sweeping
                        I traversed the carpets shore

Where was my comfort to be sought
OR my intimacy to be dreamt
For where have you seen a twig with dreams
OR the blazing glory of a shoot

                                        There's no compass for relief
                                Only certitude was certainty,
                      The assured conviction
        That truth is fact!

Drifting Aimlessly

Drifting aimlessly

I have sipped the ladled blades
in this cold chicken soup
Set upon a table of just deserts
on the far end of the horizon
Spoon fed disappointments
staining a multi-colored tie,
hated for what it’s worth
and only half as much for what it means

Navigating a narrow hallway
of slanted photographs, framed and fading
Dripping down papered walls,
torn designs, baseboard gatherings,
stopping only for locked doors,
weather worn carpets
burning my hands and knees

The spiral staircase teeters on its polished axis
as I weave my way towards the furthest star,
carbon copied desires on an unending page
rolled and stuffed in my shirt pocket, mapping
each pie slice step, counted and forgotten of
crusted blueberry footprints…crumbs
falling through celestial cracks,
drifting aimlessly

Aimlessly

Aimlessly
I wander through this world
Lost, alone and afraid
I've taken much more, than I've given
And I've broken every promise I've made

I wake up every morning to the misery
Of each mistake, I've made on my own
Am I dying or living I'm not sure
I just know, I can't face this alone

Aimlessly
I wander through this world
Lost, alone and afraid
I've taken much more, than I've given
And I've broken every promise I've made

I'm finding relief in the bottle
And bad habits, are so slow to fade
Redemption was a chance I was given
But it seems, to sin I'm a slave

Aimlessly
I wander through this world
Lost, alone and afraid
I've taken so much more, than I've given
And I've broken, every promise, I've made

Aimlessly
I wander through this world
Uncertain of what is to be
Shameful and broken, searching and hoping
Still I wander
Aimlessly

Still I wander....
Aimlessly....

Premium Member Drifting Aimlessly

Drifting aimlessly, mine aspirations are illusionary.
Drifting aimlessly, mine spirit becoming less and less lively.
Drifting aimlessly, mine life is miserably empty.

Drifting Aimlessly

on the wings
of autumn's wind
my mind drifts
into the arms
of you

i lose myself
in the depths
of thoughts
as i drift
aimlessly
through
dreams

into the arms
of you
my mind drifts
on the wings
of autumn's wind

Wondering Aimlessly

Can think of nothing else to do except write.
Sitting and thinking about her face and voice.
Nothing else matters but the subtle distain.
Quiet inside now. Metallic taste slips in.
Copper maybe??? Not to sure of it now.
Breathless, lifeless, and not taking it anymore.
Feel that? That is the air thinning, suffocate!
That’s this baseball bat to the back of your head!
That the noose around your neck, tightening!
That’s the bullet to your brain…soft and warm.
Pulse quickens! Feel that? Shorter breaths. Feel that?
That’s panic, that’s life, that’s love!

Aimlessly

whispered
on the threads
of darkness
my secrets
drift aimlessly
in this wind
in hopes
they reach you
before morning
arises again
