AUTHOR'S NOTE
This poem is inspired by the true story of poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning. Bedridden and isolated, Elizabeth received a letter from Robert that began, "I love your verses with all my heart." Over 20 months they exchanged 574 letters that mended her fear and gave her life back.
574 LETTERS
Elizabeth lay bedridden in a lonely room,
A wounded bird behind walls of gloom.
Then came a letter, soft as a spell,
_"I love your verses with all my heart" Robert would tell.
A crack of light filled her cage of fear,
Whispers of love drove the mist from here.
574 letters crossed the night,
Mending her wings with gold and light.
Like lilies that grew in abandoned ground,
Her broken life to heaven was bound.
He didn’t burn the past or the pain,
He wrote her hope till she lived again.
So mend, don’t burn. Write, don’t run.
Love can heal anyone, anyone.
Out of my window
Lines of ghost girls passing by
The sparse mist
In the sick bay
Coping with the weariness
images out of stains
A change in the mood
To once more accede to you
Aesthetic'lly blue
A random thought
The one thing I keep seeking
Is found when I stop
Autumn rain
The wind on the pink flowers
of a cotton-silk tree
Runners in the park
A blond lady pets and feeds
Invisible dogs
Drip, drip, drip a drop
forever on a roof top
lil rain bubbles pop!
Before the sunrise
A line of orange clouds
All else is darkness
heavenly bamboo
a mother's loving, and grace
waters my garden
Eerie break of dawn
Hear the taps in the distance
Mourningly bein' blown
Summer night
All the sleepiness
All the thunders
words are simply best words
your music follows fast pushing everywhere brother
lights,smell,moments,living, peace.
The pigeon flies, through
Vast cobalt skies, surveying
The guise of beauty.
Pure is the white quartz
As it dazzles in the sun.
Treasure its charm.
