To Cut the Corner of Your Coat

(Giving voice to those who suffered and believe in poetic justice)

Should I cut the corner of your coat?
Too many times you tried to squeeze my throat;
you got perverse pleasure to see my page blank,
thought I have overdrawn the polyglot’s bank.
I saw your glee, you thought I went to flee,
you did not understand, my spirit was in command.
Without ascendancy you appointed yourself as judge,
still I chose not to bear a grudge.

Like David, my sins are uncovered,
like him I never devoured
Nathan; he was not sent by Satan.
He was sent by Him, against Whom all have sinned.
Yet you aimed to shame and then denied,
thought you caught me by surprise and caused my demise.
You have conveniently overlooked my word,
I have confessed and made my peace with the Lord.

Who sent you? You are not a messenger of peace,
Your truth doesn’t set free but spreads strife and disease.
You are not a prophet; are you the false king’s puppet?

I saw Fate throw the dice,
so now you are uncovered before my eyes;
but like David, I too will kill hatred with love,
he was content to cut the corner of Saul’s robe.

An eye for an eye? It won’t make me smile to see you die,
I will not honor vengeful games with my name.
Now, I release myself from all the hurt you’ve caused
and claim God’s gift; He who knows me more than most,
denies you satisfaction to silence my thoughts.

I am forgiven.
Through His grace I forgive you seventy times seven,
on your downfall you won’t see me gloat;
I refuse to even cut the corner of your coat.

The building of God's holy spirit to dwell
Is not found by the works of mans hand
As the tower of Babel when confusion
Was handed over to the depraved intentions
Still in these days how many seek God
In the beauty of buildings deception
When God's true presence might be left outside
For those which are seeking in pureness
The true God will show up within you
To destroy all that mankind has instilled
With Jesus laying a new foundation
The true carpenter who gives eternal blueprints
No charge but freely given with love and joy
That God's promised spirit might find dwelling
To reveal the true place of worship
The beauty not made by hands of mankind
But through the Spirit and Truth
Manifesting one into a new spiritual living being
Surrounding one in the presence of God
That the true beauty of God's creation
Is within one before walking into a building
Love and much prayers for any seeking true worship
For everyone has access to same spirit

Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says: Are you the one to build me a house to dwell in? I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?” ’
2 Samuel 7:5?-?7 NIV

“However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: “ ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things?’
Acts 7:48?-?50 NIV

For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
1 Corinthians 3:9?-?11?, ?16 NIV

Premium Member Light In Darkness

They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.
Job 12:25 NIV
the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
Matthew 4:16 NIV
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV
We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
2 Peter 1:19 NIV
to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
Acts 26:18 NIV
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
Ephesians 5:8 NIV
You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29 NIV
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
Acts 2:36 NIV

May the light of Christ
Awaken the candle within
That is flickering in hope
Sometimes the wind has
Been felt as if its gonna burn
But then comes darkness back to distinguish
My friend I pray this wind of Christ
Brings a constant source of everlasting
Strength of wind and true oil from the good tree.
That the light within sets ablaze
To dwell within your lighthouse
To reveal the darkness
One once walked in
And the darkness all around one.

Chasing Sunrises and Dreams

Every morning my heart wakes up to find you. I dash from my bed and put on my slippers. I have driven miles just to see you. Many times with my camera in hand. It’s a love affair that began when I was a little girl. Chasing sunrises and dreams. You never look the same to me. Every morning it’s a new encounter. What will today bring? Will you be dressed in soft orange and lilac? Or perhaps a warm glowing amber? To not see you is to not live. To not see you is to not breathe, for you are my beloved sunrise and you belong to me.

You set my day in motion. You set the tone of the creation. Without your input nothing would be the same. Don’t ever let me wake up without you. If I oversleep please come and tap upon my window pane. Forever friends. You and me. Let us journey once again today. Let us hold hands and see the new opportunities. Laughter and complete silliness to sincerity and warmth. There will never be a friend that brings such calm to my soul as you my beloved sunrise. I tried to snap a photo of you, but you keep moving. Your beauty is too difficult to contain.

A morning without clouds, Like the tender grass springing out of the earth, By clear shining after rain.’

I Pray

I pray for all the Atheists,
And non-believers as well,
I pray they come to know You Lord,
Instead of knowing Hell.
"The word of the Lord is proven",
Says 2 Samuel 22:31,
He opens His arms wide,
And to everyone says "Come."
I pray for those close to me,
The teachers and pastors all over,
I pray for the weak and poor,
That God will give them cover.
I pray for the strong,
Then for me last,
I forgive everyone,
Who harmed me in my past.
I end this prayer with praise,
And thanks for God alone,
Thank-You dear Jesus,
For making Heaven my home.

Premium Member He Danced

Poignant, graceful – sweeping
The floor, the soul, with silhouettes
Breathing hope through silence,
Erasing all the melancholic tones
Gray and musty, whispering
As he steps from thought to thought,
Vibrating with rhythmic feeling –
Powerful legs, bending and swirling,
Darting across the memory, hesitating
Healing even the eventual pains,
The lasting ache of grief, restoring
Even the doubts to a faith, a feeling
Blessing and stirring to life all the endless
Inspirations, reveling in the twirl,
The rhythm of a sensation, curling
Feet, blazing passions, penetrating and
Creating moments of victory, winding
Their way through nights meant for those
Who know the dance, in shadowy blue
Quiet the darkness and brighten the azure
Into a cerulean joy, adoring violet hues
Elaborate with moves that break through
Light, sound, serene and uplifting,
Still, cool dreams abiding on the limbs
Impressive sighs, standing through the highs
Swaying, wiggling, cavorting across
The edges of paradise – in a forbidden
Dance, dreaming of the reasons
This is the timeless piece of wisdom,
Rich praise, saluting the laughter of a wife
Who will never understand his desire,
The fever that burns away the worst ire,
Urging his limbs to humble themselves
Delighting in the One who fashioned him
From dust, he rises – praising, dancing, alive

2 Samuel 6:14 (KJV) And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Long, long ago,                                                                                before the Super Bowl, popcorn, and potato chips;
Yes, long ago, there lived a king in the Middle East.

His name was David, a very God fearing man,
and also a military general of the highest order.
He was loyal to his God, his country, and his soldiers. He also became his nation’s greatest hero of all times.

He was a gifted musician and a psalmist.
He was fearless and strong, but a sexual weakness
changed the course of his entire life and family.

Lastly, one other error in judgment aroused his God’s
displeasure. Because of his mistake, King David was compelled to make a choice of evils. Indeed, none of the choices presented to him were good ones.

Sometimes, we are also placed in situations, either by self, others, or God. In those often complicated and convoluted situations, we are forced to choose. There are no exit signs or ways of escape to take flight. The choice is not one of delight. However, responsibility demands that we choose.

Plucky Jamaica shocks the Copa America winners, Brazil, in a scoreless draw that propels the Reggae Girlz to the knockout stage for the first time in only their second Women’s World Cup, and with only one goal in Group stage. Contrast that with Brazil’s first group-stage exit since the 1995 World Cup. Not the best way for Brazil’s mighty Marta Vieira da Silva to end her sixth and final Women’s World Cup.

beautiful chaos
‘how the mighty have fallen’—
Reggae Girlz advance

Poetry notes:

"Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen" is a phrase that originates from 2 Samuel 1:19, an expression of David's lament over the death of Saul and Jonathan. It is also used today as a phrase to imply the decline of a once-great person or entity.

Premium Member Breaking All the Commandments

PRELUDE
King David did break all Ten Commandments in one act (2 Samuel 11:2-5)
All it takes is one to break the pact (James 2:10)

THE X COMMANDMENTS
He made Bathsheba a goddess (2 Samuel 11)
Her body was his idol, to him she was hottest (2 Samuel 11:4)
He caused others to take God’s Name in vain (2 Samuel 11:14)
Did he keep the Sabbath Day? (1 Kings 20:29)
Where were his thoughts on that day?
Were Jesse and Nitzevet honored by
                          their son's behavior? (Is. 11:1; Ps 86:16)
This is why God sent the Savior (Psalm 51:4; Matt. 1:21)
With David’s rape of Bathsheba and murder of Uriah (2 Samuel 11)
In one fell swoop he struck his Messiah (Number 20:11; 1 Cor. 10:1-14)
He stole Uriah's wife (2 Samuel 11)
And stole his life......

(Ahimelech was fed a lie and gave the showbread
To feed David and his men instead)(1 Samuel 21:1-6)

........Sullying Uriah’s reputation (2 Samuel 11:14-21)
And coveting Uriah’s all and everything and
                          things that might have been
Why? King David ruled kingdoms and had many wives (2 Samuel 3:2-6)
                          and concubines (2 Samuel 5:13)

POSTLUDE
Nathan shared a parable with the king
He became irate, then shame came
As the prophet revealed the guilty man (2 Samuel 12:1-15)
It was King David guilty off all by one act
(So let us remember (we are all sinners) that one act (Of commission or omission) can offend many, especially God)

Wait For Morning To Burn

Morning fog descends
Dusky pinpricks on my skin
Veils of hidden hills arise
Shrouds obey sunrise

Redwood still stands tall
Poetry sits on a perch
Feel the morning fog recede
Clouds layered veils deep

Fog's book peels pages
Sunrise lifts up gray curtains
Opaque airs thicken distance
Lone jay takes off

Poem transpires slate
Inspiration dissipates
Male jay remains in the drab
Smoke apparitions

Distance is illusion
Loneliness a delusion
Like fog fooling perspective
Change heaven’s constant

Tomorrow shrouds come
Ashen mornings will return
Love will find rest in redwoods
Poems are renounced

Stay grounded as trees
Climb above clouds to what's blue
Wait for aspect to restore
Fog, bird, or lover

I'Ve Fallen, But I Can Get Up

When haven't we fallen as He reminds us of that plank in our eye
It is because of His Calling that we can get back up on one knee
There gathering up our thoughts He reaches out with His Hands
Everything that one has ever sought for only the Lord Understands

How time so quickly past never seeming to get for what we yearn
So hard to break out of such a cast when one is so inept to learn
Rising back up on one's own feet the wonder of how I ever did that
But this was not of my own feat in so leaving where I had once sat

Over and over again, standing there, His Two open Pierced Hands
As for all men does Our Lord so care for all of us He understands
But next time we're not going to fall in not straying from His Side
As when it is your name He does call there are few places to hide

Having now understood all of this those falls might happen a lot less
For the point that many will miss is that it is only He who can Bless
When He lifts you up on your feet at first you may wonder a little bit
It's all in knowing you are incomplete, the first thing one must admit

2 Samuel 22:31
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried:
he is a buckler to all them that trust in him

Thankful heart welcomes joy of gracious worth
Praising God*for granting radiating, vibrant mirth
Ready to bask in hope, then toward glad sharing --- flee.

Cheerful to inspire others along praise delight
Victorious faith soars toward prayer-driven domain
Vanquishing worries, anxieties, and doubts of woeful strain
Triumphant over greed, anger, jealousy, as well as nervous-fright.

As revived spirit stays jubilant for service-quest
Divinely-controlled emotions follow heavenly guide
Satisfied midst contentment against selfishness and pride
Worshipping the Lord Who blesses well with His fullest and best.

Mephibosheth

Based on 2 Samuel 19:28

O Savior at Your feet I kneel
So humbled by Your grace
That you would come my soul to heal
To meet me face to face

Whene’er You meet me in this way
My thoughts and strength soon flee
I see how weak I am; I pray
“O King, You look on me?”

For I and all my house were dead
Before my Lord the King
Yet You have tasted death instead
And rose to end death’s sting

Because of love, an oath You made
With Abram long ago
That oath, that love, shall never fade
That love You’ve made me know

Because of You, I’m still alive
I’m filled from Your supplies
Your hope and peace have made me thrive
You’ve always heard my cries

You give me hope, eternal light
Beneath your wings I sing
So how could I still have the right
To cry unto the King?

Long, long ago, before baseball and perhaps before apple pie.
Long, long ago, before fast cars , the internet, or radios.
Yes, long ago, there lived a king in the Middle East.

None who knew him considered him among the least.
Saul was tall, well pleasing, and the people’s choice.
He became the first king of his great nation.
But he was selfish, impatient, and proud.
He was blinded by his own insecurities.
He made rash decisions with little thought of outcomes.
He did not appreciate the loyalty of those who served him.

He died in a losing military battle along with his sons.
With no one to inherit his throne, his kingdom departed with him.
Nothing of renown ever became of King Saul.

A Gift So Filled With Grace

My eyes have seen the the Glory of the Lord
His Word is cutting at evil like a mighty sword
Oh how His Way is One of such Glory
So please won't you let me tell you about His Story

As such large crowds would gather and continuously follow
For their life too had also seemed to ring so hollow
But when they heard the words that the Lord had spoke
Suddenly it was there own souls that had finally awoke

Not one single time would our Savior sin
For it was our salvation that He was here to win
And for every parable and every lesson He ever taught
Oh how deep in love your very own soul is sought

And then came that Glorious Third Day
As to Heaeven for you He had created a Way
For in Creation He certainly knew that you were inept
I only hope and pray that it's His Gift that you will accept

2 Samuel 22:36
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation:
and thy gentleness hath made me great.
