silver silos...
snow-filtered
sunlight
See, see the splurptious sky
Marvel at its big Mauve depths.
Tell me, dingle, do you
Wonder why the Aardvark ignores you?
Why its foobly stare
makes you feel Crappy.
I can tell you, it is
Worried by your crumbobulous facial growth
That looks like
A Rotten fish.
What's more, it knows
Your flarpgurgle potting shed
Smells of a ball of snot.
Everything under the big splurptious sky
Asks why, why do you even bother?
You only charm aliens?
Torrero sans l’aide de Picador
Such artful courage sans pareil :
Gored in the loins
No need to shout who Bad Guys stand for
Mean lances of the Picador slay
Split Toro groins
Speak not of Bad Guys in the same breath
As of fighting bulls and bull-fighters :
Can courage die

Thanks to you I can recall
Life before the Internet
and the shopping mall
I remember your office
a cabinet, desk and chair
Open the window
if you wanted fresh air
You maneuvered tough times
the Great Depression, WW2
Today more than ever, Dad
I'm humbled by you

Had he lived, my dad would be 110 years
old today, Feb. 17, 2024. He shares his
birthday, by the way, with Michael Jeffrey
Jordan.
Backwards sliding down can be
scary, but fun if you
enjoy the moment and know
you will go nowhere that
you won’t already go.
I try affirmations and say things out loud
But then I’m reminded, every silver lining has a cloud
