should he outfox or outwit his brother
Pete could not decide whether to outfox or outwit
His sister said, “why not outsmart?” That hurt him a bit
Their brother was not easy to bamboozle, fleece or befool
Their mother suggested, why not first try the golden rule?

Beware of too coy a wife
An unfaithful wife poses coy,
A spouse too straight perhaps plays fool,
Salty sea feels soothing cool,
Courteous goes fraudulent ploy,
Too sweet a tongue tends to befool.

Translation |18.09.2024| wife, coy, unfaithful, sea, water
Poet’s note: Sanskrit has thousands of verses of wisdom called Subhashhitam. This one is taken from my selection of translations. Wisdom tells us to be wary of tranquil waters. They are deep. So also sea waters that be salty are soothing cool. A wife who is unfaithful poses coy. And if I may add, an unfaithful husband, tries to look too caring. The transliteration of the Sanskrit verse follows:
A-satee bhavati sa-lajjaa, kshaaram cha sheetalam bhavati |
Dambhah bhavati vivekee, priya-vaktaa bhavati dhoorta-janah ||

So spake simple Simon
path any, what is pointed to is this
simply enter silence, stop flow of time
that God’s magnetism may fill us with bliss
and vibrant heart heeds the sublime love chime
relinquishing each conditioned belief
softening attention and gentling touch
on its own consciousness turns a new leaf
breath by breath thanking God ever so much
layer by layer, the false falls away,
revealing our true Self as divine light,
rapturous in bliss mists by night and day,
holding firm sconce of love by day and night.
let not narrow ego cravings befool ~
love’s the only rule in this earth life school

The Happy Fool
The happy fool or so is our judgment
His countenance always luminescent
In and yet not within, the herd thought pool
Seeming simpleton, easy to befool
More oft than not, nodding in agreement
Bliss continuum, in the joy current
Resonating thus, loving sentiment
He is illumined, though looking unschooled
The happy fool
He is devoid of ego sediment
Vibrant rapture, his native element
Knowing life but a dream, contractual
Soul being our true self, truth actual
Thus silence and stillness marks his ascent
The happy fool

Vbt Practice 27 of 112
Let our pristine attention in stillness slow
Abide in the void between our eyebrows
And there thus remain
Unstained
With practice we may extrapolate
Silently contemplate
That the same void is in every chakra
In each cell in fact exists this enigma
To retain poise
We lessen noise
Choosing any body coordinate as of preference
With propels void meditation without thought interference
Thoughts seek to befool
But using imagination as a tool
In the vibrant void unbound
Shiva Himself is found!

The First Rule :: the Mabini Sonnet
It is good to know, you follow a rule
by which you live by and stay in that path;
but can you overlook the aftermath;
holding self in high esteem, it's not cool.
Why you hesitate of win, forget how doubt
other to perceive your actions somehow.
Relation breaks for pride, don't act like fool;
give credit to them; how long you'll befool?
Don' realize, why it should hurt your pride,
why you refused to talk, preferred to stride;
But, it's worst relationship blunder you'll
make; Why want to make excessive pride as
your lifestyle, must feel the drawback it has;
Show them respect for their feats as first rule.

One Light of Hope
One light, one day reflect into the glistening pool
As the trickle of sunbeams bloom from the sky
Mother Earth gives her smile from her watchful eye
And there is a light of hope burning jewel
Doth, her eyes begin to befool
Landscapes full of turmoil and begin to die
Heavens open and lets the floodgates rise
Carelessness damaged her with such great accrual
Night grows near hope ensues
To mend her, time to change our ways
Future remains uncertain for where we call home
Phoenix rising pure and a new
There is time to turn back the clock, yet there is still abhom
Mother Earth we shall begin to renew

Summer
'O' summer
Why don't you go?
As we can't tolerate you more
It is more than four
Sun is hot
Moon is cool
Everyday it makes me befool
Spreading heat all around
We can't keep feet on the ground.
I have some doubts
They can't come out
to play in the rays
In the month of may.

My Eyes
My eyes have the vision to see inside your soul
my eye of the needle the threads you wove
behold the eye that seek to befool
beware of the eyes that once you consoled
take sight of the past
but focus an eye on tomorrow
don't let the eyes that judges
be the eye of your sorrow
don't let the eyes that betray you
lead your eye astray
don't let the eye of the tiger
get in your way
the beauty in my eyes
mirrors from my heart
the love in my eyes
will never keep us apart
if my eyes exhibit expressions
that touches your soul
when your eyes see the light
it should simply unfold
My Eyes.

I Really Should'A Read the Fine Print
The bold print was indeed gorgeous
Too prominent to befool
A quick surge in the unconscious
Brought me down in the pool
I am now almost drowning
Entangled in the moss and algae
Fine print-distress now unfolding
Though I crave I can’t be free
Had the gale of wind not arisen
I would have remained a captive
It would be hard to break the prison
The pool would have been most disruptive
One should always read the fine print
To avoid such a faux pas as the pool
Not responding to just the subtle hint
That stir the heart and feel cool

These Slogans
Politics is a cluster of slogans
Pinching society’s all organs
The issues are just countless
Blaming others being careless
Sometimes of a child education
Sometimes removing corruption
Sometimes women’s protection
Sometimes poverty eradication
The slogans flow in every stream
Showing bright future’s scheme
During elections all catch the ear
But after it they are nowhere near
They only seem to be clever tricks
To befool through thins and thicks
All leaders appear to be prophets
Pouring in voice honey droplets
For God’s sake stop tricking on us
We are fed up of shows pompous
We want no more of slogans at all
We want the nation builder’s call

Daddy Cares
May be I think, I’m grown up and I can decide.
It’s a myth in my mind so must be kept aside.
May be I’m respected and they take my advice.
I’m telling you this just to be precise.
Daddy thinks I’m still a child and always playing games
Anyone can befool me is what he claims.
“Don’t chat with strangers and
Personal details you don’t send.
And no need to tell that you are a mother of two
My baby, life is not as easy as playing – ‘loo’ ”,
Is what daddy advised, when I said
“My poems have got some comments on internet.”
Date:13/13/14
* loo - A game of cards.
