Matsuo Basho: English translations of Haiku about Spring 2

Matsuo Basho English Translations of haiku about spring, birds, bats, butterflies, flowers, sun, cherry.

Seeing them naked
almost makes me caress
the wanton flowers.
—Matsuo Basho, translation by Michael R. Burch

As temple bells fade
flowers strike their fragrance
into the silence.
—Matsuo Basho, translation by Michael R. Burch

The bat also emerges
into the birds’
world of flowers.
—Matsuo Basho, translation by Michael R. Burch

When planting,

Uncle Spelunker

Uncle was a spelunker
drove to the caves
in his clunker
(it was quite the junker)
without a sound
he sunk underground
pitch black as night
and on his hat
a bright white light
(the switch it was waterproof)
to see which stalagmites
might reach the roof
where stalactites
clung on tight
unafraid of bats
flitting around
never flunking
Uncle loved going down
but sorely and sad to say
on one of those getaways
a

Fish consuming bats come out at night
In Brazil struggling fish is a sight
So scary are the long-tongued bats
Pollen and nectar give them their fats

Frog-eating bats reside in Panama
They devour them all cold and raw
Vampire bats make my shivers shake cold
Blood from animals is their liquid gold

If ultrasound machines of the world all break down
We had better make friends with nocturnal bats.brown.
They use ultrasound to locate and navigate
There is one hanging by my west garden gate

Vampire bats could help us diagnose disease
Be polite and make sure you use thank you and please
Nurses and doctors will have to be trained to be

Ode To Bats

Soaring through the sky of early fall
   Abolishing mosquitos, eating for all

Your siren song echoes in the night.
Hungry little teeth white and bright

Webbed wings flank the higher you soar.
Dark vessels visible through the black uproar

You’ve joined all your friends in your endless hunt
Soft chitters of excitement

At the end of the day
Reality bats last
So when you worry
That we’re down in the 9th
Just remember
Take heart
And find solace
That reality always
Has the final say

Foul Bats

Nosy minds in fall of night
Like foul bats envying the light
They're like fool dogs barking till dawn
Finding some dirt in other's lawn

They're all like puppets in a play
They are like some toys made of clay
Stupid idiots who know nothing
Pulling others is their only thing

I still wonder if

Premium MemberThat's Bats

I didn't sleep again

It's boring me to tears

I think I'm getting better

I've felt this way for years

I don't need a doctor

Have you met my mother?

Oh, she died long ago

Maybe I meant my brother

People keep on staring

What are you looking at?

I just found my wristwatch

It's time to walk the cat

I keep hearing voices

I hope my head's

Premium MemberLets Go See the Bats

Hey! Let’s go see the bats!
At first I am thinking baseball bats.
But this is late evening, so the black ones come into my head.
What bats? Why would I want to?
My brother says ‘It is amazing! They come out all at once.
Where?
Carlsbad Cavern. Come on!
How many bats come out? I ask.
Five thousand a minute is

Nightmare Symphony

In the dead of night, when shadows creep,
A haunting presence, secrets to keep.
Beneath the moon's gaze, darkness awakes,
As Halloween's spell, its hold it takes.

Ghosts and ghouls, they roam the land,
A spectral army, at their command.
Whispering winds, a chilling breeze,
Echoing screams, the sound of unease.

Jack-o'-lanterns flicker with an eerie glow,
Their grinning faces, a sinister show.
Witches on

A flying house! I have never seen such a sight!
This was said from the east, the north, the south and the right.
It’s bats in the belfry! A Halloween expert said as he looked in the sky.
I watched the house swoop almost to my head as it flew on by.

Bats In the Mist

Imperiling through the sky with blood settled on the tip of their tounges. They call out a cult of white hoods with the Illuminati eye on the shroud humanoids with red scaly skin 8 feet tall and burrow in the mesopelagic zone stationed into a temple full of books such as the Grapes of Wrath.

I asked a slug
“tell me of beauty”
He passed me a slimy smile
And sped away.

Who would trust a Ferret
With the family jewels?

Do they make tiny Peloton wheels
My hamster is getting fat.

Why is the Mantis praying
And what is it praying for?

Do fat house cats envy the mouse’s freedom?

When a snail gets sick
Does he become a shell of

A disastrous sunflower,
Poe is hour after hour
now studied the way a murder is
by Alfred Hitchcock or Sherlock Holmes
long-lived even in death,
he suffers in hell
through our eyes on the page
and our ears thereafter.

Bats Bass Alto Tenor Soprano

With Thanks they spoke of the endearing
and restorating power
of togetherness.
Even in doubt when people wish those chores and tasks done
they will unite
to see things done.
One fella told a story of birds: he said
that for a thosand years
seagulls floew from the west coast of a certain
conteint, to an underground cave in the desert.
They bought oysters and
