Mathew 5, Me 7 (yrs)

Morning chapel
padre preaching
all new to me
came here for a natter
see what’s there to see
every hell has its angels
he don’t know ‘bout angels
how they fight
thrills of a motor bike
chariots o’fire
if he say he do, s’not true,
he aint read the manual
don’t know what a spanner’s for
he just know we threw it in
an’ it don’t work

	I’d run out o’ booze
	drunk as a lord
	awake till morn
	got no comfort
	I ain’t weak
	disinherited me
	had nothin’ to give
	always empty
	it ain’t right
	raised hungry an’ thirsty
	plenty o’ scrapes
	showed no mercy
	weak for a tart
	love n’ leave
	that ain’t odd
	yeah, was picked on
	fight for me rights

they be-me-attitudes
an’ I’ll not change
bless ‘em they try
‘n they try
I’ll never change

if heaven is gained
through suffrin’
I’m in

man-ah never found
streets paved with bread
much less with gold
I looked for trouble
‘n found it
there ain’t no justice
tain’t no miracle
that’s why I’m here
tain’t no miracle

Paris is about attitude and the art of slow living, where nothing’s urgent and everything’s fine.

But if you’re in school, that’s not true. I just began a group project (gp), and to paraphrase William Shakespeare, the storm has come again! GPs are big affairs with slow moving parts, like conceptualization and collaboration - and all that happens before any actual work is done.

Some cultures treat deadlines like casual suggestions but I get absolutely hinky in the loom of deadlines - I pace, chew fingernails and fret.
The other day, a TA (teaching assistant) asked me if I was trying to “prove something.”
The French invented ‘laze faire.’ after all, but I’m American enough to have dismissively said,
“I’d like to prove I can complete the assignment on time.”

Let’s get poet-y..

A trial comes, like a cloud, so dark it should thunder
but there’s no bromide, offer of shelter or tent to mock the storm,
it’s for us - as strangers - to return results which opinion crowns fair.

Some people think “that its all about me,”
but they don’t see what others always see.
It’s I should come first in both thought and deed,
and getting the attention that I need..

Conversations are filled with platitudes,
this always exposes vile attitudes.
But often in life we will meet this kind,
bad attitudes I always leave behind.

Now, I will make no claim of ever being a saint,
but I’ve always felt at peace after giving my best.
Often in life, thoughts have whispered “I can’t”,
But I’ve viewed those times as another faith test.

“Whether you believe you can do a thing, or not,
you are probably right.”
Henry Ford ?

Speaking the Truths

when speaking the truths
 is called " bad attitudes , "
arrogances
or egotisms,
remember that some victim players
are on different stages.

It was a minor car crash,
But they needed assistance.
The woman refused to help.
“Sheer lunacy,” she alleged,
to trust other people.
“Twill be the court for me,”
she moaned as she viewed
the wrecked ruined cars.
She refused to help.

He smiled, accepted the job
and said a fond goodbye to her,
never failing to see her face
wrinkled in a thousand frowns.
“How can you be cheerful and happy,”
she muttered. “Or did I not care for him?”

Oh he cared very much, but
He learned from experience
that he can only fashion his happiness,
even if it meant parting from her.
And frankly, he soon found out,
that leaving her worked better
than a wonder drug.

Coherence and Incoherence Attitudes

While bees produce honey that
   sweetens life...
   Men what do they do..?
   salt to salt the world
   and gall that bitterness
   the existence ...!

Premium Member Surreptitious

During our recent, year-long pandemic imprisonment, my room - which, objectively, is a very nice room - seemed to transform, late-nights, into a tomb. I had to open all the windows just to feel like I could breathe.

Night after night, when the lights were out, I’d lay perfectly still, perfectly awake until all-hours, listening to crickets. There must be a billion of them in Georgia.

Persistent consciousness can drive you mad.

“Why are your windows open?”, my mom would say, hurrying to close them in winter (to save heat) and summer (to save cool).

I wouldn’t argue - I’d just shrug, wordlessly and reopen them once she left. I seldom argue anymore - I surreptitiously do whatever I want to.

The Four Attitudes

Rules help us live together in peace
Rules give the hawk control of the geese
Rules are for fools
Who lack the tools
Rules light the way the whole world to fleece!

Combative Attitudes
Morning Thoughts
By Miracle Man
12-23-2019

The world today is filled with bias and hate,
and a sinful nature drives us to discriminate.

We speak the wrong language, to heavy, too thin,
and too many don’t like the color of our skin.

Shootings and other violence dominate the news,
and many professing Christians never fill the pews.

Too many today possess a combative attitude,
when toward each other we should show gratitude.

God didn’t destine us to experience life this way,
and our freedom of choice must bring HIM dismay.

We cry peace, peace, as peaceful things we spurn,*
True peace will never come until HIS return.

*(Hebrews 12:14 (KJV)
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
*(Jeremiah 6:14)
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”

Attitude For Gratitude

What should we be grateful for today?
Well, we woke up on Earth, hooray!
We woke up in a comfy bed,
We ate breakfast, enough said,
We turned on heating in this grey,
We can afford the bills, yet more yah!
I can write, teach, read and craft,
Floating on Planet Earth, our raft,
Be grateful, let our glad hearts sing,
What can we say about such things?
"The assassins have failed again."
