I am a girl with densely haired arms.
In school, classmates would exclaim upon seeing my arms,
"Oh my gosh, how can you have so much hair on your arms!"
"Kiwi girl! Haha"
I looked at my own arms, then at the arms of other girls.
Their arms were smooth and bright,
While mine were like unpeeled yam sticks.
Fine, dense hairs scattered in every direction,
A gust of wind could even make them change course.
I gently brushed my left arm with my right hand,
Though not touching the skin,
I startled the little hairs,
Feeling a tickle.
So I raised my arm to observe it against the window.
Hey—they're like little grasses growing freely on a hillside,
Some long, some short, swaying in the sunlight.
I think I'm starting to like my arm hair a little.

save me from myself
because I can't
I won't find it
there is no way
save me from myself
something's on our path
beside us, following
it's a shadow, a ghost
save me from myself
I dug a hole
too deep to get out of
on my own
save me from myself
there is no warmth
inside my mind
in this cruel dungeon
save me from myself
your warmth, your light
radiating into the black hole
it's futile to give sight
to a man who doesn't want to see
to fill the void
it's fruitless and cold
I don't think you can
save me from myself

‘I shall multiply your seed as the stars of heaven
and as the sand on the seashore’*
As if Father Abraham could count them all --
at that very moment he stood so tall
And now we, his descendants, over 4,000 years later
yearning for this promise of God to be fulfilled
Midst pogroms and holocausts down through the ages
Israel’s faithful have ever stood ...
... arm-in-arm, awaiting the population explosion
God promised Abraham, our father, long ago chosen

In the midst of darkness, I call out to You,
—Oh Lord, my God, my Saviour, my truth;
I'm getting lost, and I need Your hand,
To guide me back to Your Promised Land.
Don't let the devil consume me whole,
—My soul cries out for Your grace to console;
Your strength and love, is all I seek,
To find my way, and remain unique.
Devil brings trials, to change our hearts,
—Whispers of doubt, tearing us apart;
But I believe, You're always there,
With Your presence, our burdens, we can bear.
Hear me, oh Father, in heaven above,
—In Your arms, I find solace and love;
Settle the burdens, that lie within,
Restore my joy, my soul to win.
My heart's desire, is to be happy and free,
—In Your house, oh Lord, forever in glee.
Enemies lurk, with plans to take away;
My joy and peace, in Your presence I pray.
Oh Lord, my God, I plead with Thee,
—Silence not, on my bended knee;
Take me back, to Your arms so warm,
In Your grace, I'll find shelter from the storm.
With all that I am, with all that I'll be,
—I offer my life, to You, so willingly;
In Your presence, my soul will rest,
With You, oh Lord, I'm forever blessed.

would have a great thought
when in both arms overwrought
so same one was shot
Just had our combined
FLU/COVID shot, I had
both of mine in left arm.
Wife had one in each
arm. Only my left arm
is sore while both of
her arms are sore.

She’s found.
The one who left her Cashmere coat
in plain sight after the movie.
I didn’t know her.
I had no idea what I had found
at the end of my search.
She was beautiful.
The warm smile and sparkling eyes
looked at me.
“Hi...
Did you forget your coat,” I stared;
this had never happened to me.
And later, after we got her coat on,
She took my arm and leaned into my side
as we walked to say good night at her door.
New warmth overwhelmed an enlarged thirsty heart.

My friend Lee, Valentine woman, posed for magazine photos
The photographer was awarded a national honor for them
She was recognized on the street now,
Lee was a shy woman, who was now wearing sunglasses
Think you’re all that huh? Asked someone who did not know her at all.
I wanted to stand up for her, but she put up an arm to stop me.
Lee knows me well. I jump off cliffs into packs of wild coyotes for friends.

As I hold its numb weight
it grows younger,
more delicately knit
to blue somnolent veins.
I am left high and dry
while nerve endings circle
the dilated roots
of severed memories.
A pinched anesthesia;
while arterial threads track back
to things once sensed
on a map of ghost towns.
A slow thaw, and now a delta
seeks a salt water flow
in shallow cold streams.
Blood washes glacial backwaters,
kindles capillaries that carry
a surfacing alluvia.
The arm tugs at my mind like a child.
I flow downstream on a raft
of fine green bones
toward fingertips dipped
in pink shells of fiery snow.

A lizard in a leotard,
a leopard in a froufrou,
strolled off together, arm in arm,
in search of Desmond Tutu.
They stopped to drop some laundry off
while walking through Ukraine;
got waylaid when they picked it up,
were never seen again.
