I speak one language – Americanized English
Technology is an anomaly I do not speak
The internet has gone away tonight
I have no clue how to coax it back
My husband is asleep, so I cannot finish my movie
I sit in the dark, in silence
Without tv, computer or I-pad access
In an internet-deficient house
I am not tired so I pick up a pen
It has been a few weeks since I wrote anything
This might be my muse forcing me to write.
I'm afraid of beauty
She's too perfect
She's beautiful, slim
And a princess
Both outfit is incredible
And what a lovely lady
I would say she's americanized
However, her ancestors must be proud
She's an Asian classic beauty.
Local newspaper needs a finance and poetry page.
Successful people,
Who are disliked by others,
Must account for actions.
My Americanized Horn Haiku.
Usually no caps of punctuation.
Those who want you to
Account for things you have done;
Always be truthful.
Beating around bush;
Not considering all facts,
Create big problems.
Primary factor;
What people want to hear;
Sold a bill of goods.
(Merton's Self-fulfilling Policy)
should know interest rate;
Current supply and demand;
stocks and bonds prices.
New jobs created;
Categories they are in;
Also GNP
Living in past;
Have to change requirements;
Adjust to the times.
Accumulation,
Reflecting social structure
Current and present.
A bagel shop displays a sign
That says, “No dogs allowed,”
But rules are rarely followed now
And signs leave no one cowed.
So oftentimes when I walk by,
A canine on a leash
Strolls in as if his owner
Sees the words, but can’t capeesh.*
The doctor’s office posts a note:
“No cell phone use inside,”
With which most waiting patients
Somehow manage to abide.
Yet once again, there are a few
Who think they are exempt,
Which leaves the office manager
A little bit verklempt.**
I’m tired of people who ignore
The stated rules, as well
As norms of our society;
Decorum’s gone to hell.
I miss the days when manners meant
You followed all the rules,
But those of us who do today
Are just old-fashioned fools.
*Americanized Italian for understand
**Yiddish for frazzled
Comfortable in her own skin seems weird, and supercalifragelisticexpialadocous.
The last dog hung also rather strange, as well as win one for the Gipper.
Then we Americans throw in references to Pinocchio and the Little Red Hen.
Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum. No Jolly Roger fans then?
Abracadabra. Just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down.
The old college try.
The foreign exchange student stops writing and stares at me.
Shouldn’t it be the young college try?
I have no words to explain this.
Poem Started To Write
Room was cold to me
Beside fire did lay down
To warm myself up
My room was well lit
Computer screen clearly in view
My mind meandered
Room was well arranged
So it could fulfil my needs
A poem I started
Ink flowed through my pen
My words started to began
So someone could read
Poem had been finished
Then was entered in storage
Later could retrieve
How quiet room was
And started to fade away
Soon was fast asleep
It just seems like you would write
bout your own environment first.
If I was writing about nature,
I would be forcing myself.
How do you feel and think about
all of this? Americanized haiku
you could call it. The Japanese
language has its own construction
and flow. I don't think or feel
like it is synchronized with English.

I wonder if this is one of those americanized dishes started by the Mexican, basic
Menu and perfected to tastiness for the American pallet?
Does not matter but I love a taco salad, with corn chips and salsa!!
