Aurora da Alma
Aos amigos
se atribui
serem
a alma da
aurora
de cada dia.
São as pessoas
amigas
que acordam
alegrias,
acalmam as dores,
aliviam os temores.
Amizade
é a força,
é a fé que
se vê.

Alma
Dona Dalva,
alma da
vizinhança,
nos teus olhos,
o reflexo
de esperança
em teu sorriso,
a energia
que nunca
cansa,
seu amor,
um abrigo,
sua presença,
nossa balança.
Que o seu nome,
Dona Dalva,
seja sempre
mais e mais,
um eco,
na vizinhança.

tradition-drenched halls

dearest alma mater
why'd you flatter
me with this sham degree
I've no skills, no connections
my classmates take their meals
in the house of corrections...
you took my money, awakened false hopes
hooked me on oxycontin, a pill-popping dope

Alma
Desde sempre
na vida e
nos negócios
a nossa alma
é às vezes
doadora,
às vezes
cuidadora.
Nessa vida
e nos negócios
nossa alma
deve doar
aquilo que é
honroso,
e proteger
a boa saúde
do corpo
para este,
fazer
mais e ma

Me ame agora enquanto
Eu posso te amar de volta
Me ame agora quando, à vontade
Eu posso acender e apagar o fogo da lanterna
Me ame agora enquanto, novamente
Eu posso expirar, inspirar e respirar facilmente
Me ame agora enquanto
Me ame agora ou nunca
Para que eu possa ser abençoado e sortudo sem fim
Não importa o estado da minha mente ou meu humor
Não deixe de ser dócil e gentil
À mina alma, ao meu coração
E ao meu corpo, antes de me despedir.

I Remember Alma
She sits in her favorite chair
Beside her is her remote for the television
Letters dating as far back as two years before are-
Strewn out on the table next to her favorite chair
She decides to do a little cleaning-
She goes into her bedroom- where the dresser overflows with old mementos-
She stops as she remembers where each piece came from-
With a smile on her face- she decides nothing must go- so she dusts around them and
sweeps and mops the floor.
She then goes back to her favorite chair- looks at the many papers spilling over the sides of the table-
She straightens them up a bit- satisfied with her handiwork-
She sits back- sighs- picks up the remote for the television-
Points- turn to her favorite program- and surmise how good life is-
If only she was still here-

Oh my...Oskar Kokoschka
why did you so love Mahler's Alma
All can see your infatuation with her charms
in this portrait lying in her arms*

Dark music floods my chamber
Like a slowly rising tide
That laps against the silence
Where my fondest dreams reside.
Dark music bathes the morning
With its languid, liquid tune,
Conundrum-like concerto,
Every note a cryptic rune.
Dark music wakes me gently
From the warm embrace of sleep
And sings to me of treasures
I can have, but never keep.

Dentro do coração,
dentro da alma
Em julho,
em todos os tempos;
o poder do crescimento,
o poder da melhoria,
o poder de superar
e romper barreiras
transformar um deserto
em um campo verdejante
—esse poder imparável
reside dentro do próprio coração.
O poder que te faz imparável
brota da rica terra do seu autoconhecimento
e grita: "Eu vou fazer mais.
Eu vou me
tornar um ser humano maior e melhor.

Lake Alma Hills
(near Weyburn, Saskatchewan, 1969
People are born here
And people die
Some live scarcely more
Than a shadow existence
Mere
Specters
Tossed about
In the speechless wind
And sand that
Sweeps across
The uneasy and lonely
Beauty
Of
Lake Alma hills

Vembadi, my Alma Mater
On day one, I stepped into school tearfully,
In school uniform, clutching my bag nervously.
Miss Barker appeared! I gazed at her fearfully,
Her foreign face scared the native lass tremendously!
Miss Barker, the disciplinarian, and her walk daily
From Lower to Upper School, we’ll never forget.
The great lady, with her methodical ways,
Our last foreign head, guided our school skilfully!
We learnt to read, write and count effortlessly,
But faced tests and exams anxiously.
We took part in sports and games snappily;
At break times I ran out with friends happily!
Miss Mabel Thambiah, our first national Principal,
Succeeded Miss Barker calmly and unflappably.
She steered the school at all times marvellously,
Specially in the turbulent takeover years!
Our teachers worked so painstakingly!
With improved knowledge and manners, we prayed daily.
The years flew by, our schooling ended quietly,
And I stepped out, at seventeen, gallantly!

We school friends met
After five decades
One came by air
One by car via
One motorcycle share
One by public bus fare
We school friends met
After five decades!

All life gives is thorn,
Basket of worries,embroided with fun.
Casket of doubt concealing Joy,
Death did to many hearts coil.
Elation giving as a token to some,
Failure the hymn, and to others tomb.
Great and feeble minds are stucked,
Hearts of scholars are strucked.
In my way i see life a movie,
Joy in the beginning, ends with tragedy.
Kins killing keen kin's knowledge,
Lofty height often climbed by the aged.
Mothers loans life to their offsprings,
Nation squezzing life out of offsprings:
Oil given as grease for ailments,
Pain employed as cure for ailments.
Qoura teaches knowledges a bit,
Road blocked,street occupied by thieves.
Samson and Delilah in the van of progress,
The former strangled by his mistress.
Under the firmament lies the gold,
Various authorites had them withhold.
Winners were once beaten and by penury scold,
Xylophone of misery:rhythm as a tale to them told.
You can get the beauty out of life;
Zebra is embroided with daintly colour but yet strife.

where is my common denominator
vindicated solemn alma mater
the isolator reason is confiscated
coming on something major
disbursed and allocated
validated the troubles are agitated
violated im humble yet amputated
partly i waited, my terror was salivated
complicated paired efficiency allocative
my dreaming is killing me rot
screaming and thinking of stop
its hurting believe it or not
scorpions relieving the spot
what am I
pushing a heavy relevance
gushing all this emotion
danger my favorite element
lusty and thirsty decadent
wasnt my final precedent
cursing a current president
distracted from painful residence
i know thats no excuse
ignored forms of abuse
maybe i was just used
where was i confused
