first attempt

The first attempt

This is the first poem I try not to think about.
It is like crossing the plateau of Alentejo
I see the tarmac road that stretches miles ahead
must follow the lines of the road
or, fall off and sink into oblivion
Poetry is not unlike arithmetic; using words instead
of numbers
The hope is that the writing has an inner logic
That defies jumbled words
The instrument has a hidden note that tells us
That two is not four
I try  telling you what I  hear, it is easy, our obligation
to love our fellow beings
This request can be obtained by honest feelings

the weight

The weight
He had written two short books
needed to show her his work,
Not now, she said, I’m watching TV
Around the beam that keeps the heaven’s roof from falling,
He slung a rope fastened to a scrap iron drum using
Himself as a counterweight.
He hoisted the drum up, but he was too heavy
He carried too much weight of pride.
He cried in the night, struggled to get rid of unwanted feelings
The drum becomes lighter and descends until
He was lifted to the top of the beam, feeling free
Of false pride and ambition.
Why did you cry so much in the night? they asked
He smiled and was at ease with himself and didn’t answer.

ghosts

Ghosts.

I knew of a man who believed in ghosts
but he didn’t believe in resurrection,
he believed in dying as an end of all activity
that was conscious.
But he thought that some people left their mark
on things they had cherished, bend the wood to his will
when stroking his fingers on the table to make it polished,
he leaves behind part of his being.
so when you hear a murmur, it is left behind by voices
someone walking in a hall on the way to the garden,
the thought of the beauty they were going to see were
felt by walls, halls, and old paintings.
Ghosts are the residue of feelings left behind by truly holy people
amongst us those who believe in the beauty
and the use of nature and a true sense of the mysterious
that surrounds us.

My Best Friend

My best friend,

Always makes me laugh,

My best friend,

Never made me feel as if I were last,

My best friend,
Always held my hand,

Now it's my turn to take a stand,

I'll be your shoulder to lean on,

I'll be your ears to hear,

I'll hold your heart when it's heavy,

Know matter how far I am or near,

I'll be that crazy one in the stand,

To make jokes while I'm holding your hand,

I'll be your best friend,
And you can be mine,

My best friend till the end time...........

the future as Irony

The Future as Irony

If we try to look ahead, say ten years when ex-president Trump sits in a cell in Arizona sent by Elon Musk, who rules the world and has an army of all-seeing AI officials, people will wonder why Trump lived that long, living on burgers and Pepsi Cola, concluding it is a long-life diet they too must live by to become very old.
They don’t know that Elon Musk, the Titan planted a chip in Trump’s brain to keep him alive showing us he has no hard feelings against the man, who got him sacked in 2025 from a job he had taken delight in because there had been many protests from other wealthy people, who the truth was told about their thieving.
Elon Musk is a remarkable man, he puts on a false beard, puts in old clothes and pretends he is poor, walks into cafés, asks for a burger and coffee, if the staff refuses to serve the poor man food, Elon Musk reviles himself and fire the staff who has to beg for food to survive as a moral lesson, the chart-savvy people applauded him

The oracle of forgiveness

Yes you hurt me
Did you do it intentionally
Did you disregard my feelings
Because it was only you
You wanted to please
Did it make you feel stronger
A matter of you are right
I was wrong
Did you try to prove a point
Only to realize with me genuinely
I don't think
You ever really belonged
I forgive you
I release you eleven times over to myself
I will not carry bitterness or anger
Allowing myself to be begrudgingly put away up on
On a shelf
I do forgive you

Love

Love doesn't love me
It runs away from me
Every time I start to look it hides from me
I feel lonely
No warmth no comfort
I feel empty
Someone find cupid and tell him there's a man waiting for his arrow
Waiting to fall in love
Waiting to be happy
Craving passion and willing to give attention to someone who deserves it,
This is a message to you love love I'm patiently waiting
On you watching the time pass me by I'm still hoping
That you will find me before my time ends
Before all that is in me fades
Most importantly before I lose hope.

dont think

Don’t Think You Will Understand What I
Am about to Do
Or All the Sad Emotions I Am Going Through
Nor Will You Understand How Deep
I Suffer with this Pain
Or the Sadness in My Heart Even Words Could
Never Explain
There Were Moments I Wish to Tell You How
I Really Feel
But Your Answer Was its All in Your Head its
Not Real
There Were Many Times I Was Happy and
Care Free in Life
But Somewhere a Sadness Took over Me
That Cut Me down like a Knife
So I Hope When Someone Needs to Express How their
Life doesn’t feel the same
Take the Time to Listen Cause a Change in a Persons
Feelings Is Not a Game
but So Many Times I Go over the one Answer to Me
You Gave
And Only If You Would of Taken the Time to
Listen I Would Not Be Lowered into my Grave

Come hold me

Come hold me dear one in your loving arms,
where I can find peace and calm my alarms
or worries , a refuge from the world , with all
its strife in your embrace, I find my peace for
 life.

Your touch ignites a flame in me that never fades melting my fears , and soothing my shades with every breath, I feel my heart entwine with yours, my love , my souls sweet valentine.

In your eyes , a haven where I can hide, a place to can call my own, where love resides with you by my side, I knew I’m not alone. Together we will weather , life’s joys and unknown.

Come hold me,and never let me go in your love, my heart beats, with love that glows forever and always I’ll be yours to hold in your loving arms , my heart finds its home.

Your poem

A poem for you
In hope my feelings could come through
A poem where sky would not be blue
But filled with you

While knowing I am grey to you
Wishing I could grow a lotus for no matter how
tiny bit of a seed it is
While you have put on emotions of budhha
Making your poem stiffed with cold
From the winter that has it's origin from you
Is this poem bound for desolation

a failed voyage for me that is adrift
"By the raging storm of my feelings"

Lost in my feelings

If I get lost in these words
Please forgive my style
Life has been bittersweet
Not knowing reality
For even the longest while
I struggle
I pray
Still no peace in sight
Imagine being a good person
Ran through
Remnants of disaster
And thrown away money spent
Still yet I try

A World without yesterday

What does it mean I heard you say
Those times and places of yesterday
The voices I still hear in my head
Are a comfort now not a tear instead

A photo now is all that’s left
And my feelings now are not bereft
So you put them away for another day
To go back to the world without yesterday.

A day of HOPE

This morning I waked up
With sparkling eyes looking at the sun
Praying this morning would be the best of all morning
He whispered in my ears
Through his rays ,touched my ears

And said my child your wish is granted
I took my cup
And ate my bun
Suddenly I saw a light shimmering
So I couldn't see it clear
When I went close, looked he was my beloved god(Krishna,Radha),my eyes filled with tears....

Fluttering Heart

A heart that beats for only you,
Captivated by all that you do.
Butterflies flutter at the thought,
Of the happiness you have brought.

The way you smile and laugh out loud,
My heart soars high above the clouds.
In your arms, I feel so alive,
With you, I want to spend my life.

Every moment spent by your side,
I feel such joy, it's hard to hide.
You are the one that sets me free,
Forever in love, just you and me.

Shadows of Solitude By Er Haider Khan

In the shadows of solitude,
When darkness engulfs my fortitude,
My friends become a guiding light,
A beacon shining in the night.

With their words, they ease my pain,
And wash away the hurt and strain.
Their support, like an anchor, holds me steady,
Even when the world feels too heavy.

In moments of joy or sorrow,
They're there for me, today and tomorrow.
With their laughter and their love,
They lift my spirit high above.

Their friendship is a precious gift,
A bond that time could never shift.
For in the shadows of my life,
Their presence shines like a bright light.

So here's to friends, both near and far,
Who light up our lives like a shooting star.
May we cherish them, always and forever,
And hold their love in our hearts, wherever.
