Hark the zither sounds like a melody, reminding me of spring, of birds singing in revelry, all joys which bring a serenity of a troubled soul. Fingers pluck the tight chords, vibrating sounds ears can't control, echoes like fjords. The vibrating sounds propagate the air, Invented in the east; An ecstasy you hardly bear, truly a feast. 12 January 2023 Writing Challenge - Zip, Zig, Zag, Zing Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France Placed 2

Very nice Victor. I had a colleague who played a variety of stringed instruments, including the zither. I have a recording of his with many different sounds and instruments A distinctive sound. Thanks for the memories!

Your delightful poetry has inspired me, love of music has been sparked! Zither, a symphony in itself, whether in the traditional Chinese tones of Guzheng to the Iranian cries of Persia, a fantastic sound! Best 0f Luck, Victor

So delightfully said! Strings are my favorite, though I am a drummer. Have recently picked up the ukulele -- surprised how easily one can learn, and, really, produce some sonorous cords. I think I have become addicted. I would love a harp, but they are far too expensive just to try on a whim. Ukuleles are relatively cheap, and can produce amazingly diverse music. Zither is the next best thing. A sweet little beauty. Blessings.

Hi Joe, I love, "Some Where Over The Rainbow" by Isreal Kamakawiwioole`on Ukulele. I may get one, I took classical guitar, 3x's and still can't play, but I can read music and tell you what an Arpeggio is.
