Poem Of The Day

5.21.24

Silent shadows whisper wicked rumors from tawny tinted tents Reflecting rueful random thoughts, such are their laments Circus kingdom cast offs disappear for no fault of their own If only you knew, the stunt star’s stunning and raving review Perilous pyrotechnic cruelly disfigures, and if only you knew Dark duplicate shapes of onyx outlines, two damaged lives Repellant is he, a vibrant visible resilient soul is she who thrives Redeemed restored! Residing in each other’s passionate thunder Unscrupulous undertones shan’t ever tear their love asunder! You know what I mean... Sequestered away from prying eyes of light they remain inside Alas all alone, as in The Phantom Of The Opera they hide Yet, shimmering silhouettes seen against the dimming sky What witnesses the galactic guardian stars cannot deny They say beauty can never be found in the dark, I’ve heard this from an empress ere she was ready to embark upon a ship shouting, sheets rife with words written about her love No not notes of loneliness it’s not for this lioness a warrior above it all, she places all her inner impetuous into her piercing poetry A dusky distant shape and outline listens, lusting, yearning with glee The light shone brightly behind, they move closer kissing eagerly You know what I mean…

I wanted to congratulate you on POTD day but contest wasn't finalized yet. This one was definitely a contender. Phantom of the Opera is one of my all time faves movies (Gerard Butler). Excellent job

Dear sweet Anaya, hooray-many congratulations with POTD with this incredibly impressive write. So much to admire here. I haven’t got the hang of alliteration yet so I’m in awe of this! I love the reference to Phantom and that line and our dear Inky’s mention as well. Your immense creative talent is well showcased here my lovely. I normally love quoting lines but I love them all here so would have to write out the entire poem! I love the pictures and video too which compliment perfectly.

Many moons away, I was in London and wanted to see the play Phantom of the Opera (I read the whole book). Only one ticket was available, behind a wide column. I was offered a ticket at an inflated price. So I missed the show. Great alliteration in your poem. Big congratulations on receiving the POTD. Hugs.

I'll never forget the play Victor, I too saw it in the late 90's at the Grand Theatre in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. I wept tears of sorrow, never seen anything like that . Really captcha YAY? I feel lucky. I think its sad and haunting and a different perspective on love alliteration. I couldn't get that song out of my head and well the rest is history. Ink Empress completed some thoughts I had about the dark having no beauty, and I ran with it. I channeled Ink's vibes. I'm glad you found it uplifting, thank you! Cheers

Empress, I'm glad you are here, to read the alliteration, I wasn't sure if I could make a good alliteration, never tried unless an accident. Anaya, I very much appreciate how you weaved this poem in tandem with the video. It's hauntingly beautiful and the alliteration and words fit perfectly. You really captured and go beyond the essence of this content theme--love and alliteration rather than just love of alliteration. I have to reflect about my own life and how my love is for my wife's soul rather than her appearance. That really is what matters. It's a good thing to think about and makes me feel good reading this wonderful creation. I also see the flame in the first picture you chose. Very cool and hot.
