We Don'T Need To Know Why

It’s cute when a young child keeps asking why. Without an answer they think they will die. Some don’t ask questions because they are shy. Some others give up because they fear of a lie. I’ve come to believe, why isn’t a need. It’s blown out of proportion yes indeed. You’re not going to die, you won’t even bleed. Many of your stressors will soon be freed. We want to know why, so we’ll understand. The answers we seek are not known to man. First, we must do for ourselves what we can, Then align with God’s will and take His hand. If we trust in Him, He’ll show us the way, Moment by moment and day after day.

Bill, I enjoyed reading and musing on your sage counsel today. There is peace in accepting that we don't have to know it all. There is One who does, and faith comes from trusting in his providence, guidance, and love. Thank you for these encouraging words, my friend. Blessings ~ John

"First, we must do for ourselves what we can, Then align with God’s will and take His hand." This is what a true believer should do. Do one's duty in full sincerity and then trust in God, hold His hand and go on believing one is in safe hands. As ever this is another beautiful sonnet of yours, dear Bill !

I like it when it rhymes and has a subject. But giving God the glory is part of this life. He is as important as the subject maybe. And when it comes to survival he's the reason why it was provided.

Dear friend Bill, your insightful discourse resonates with us all. It is a universal truth that we cannot possess all the answers. However, the mere acknowledgment of this fact can alleviate our anxieties, regardless of age. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Good Morning Bill. Hi. This is wonderfully said and expressed. This entry is two folded. I see a simplistic side and I see a complex side. Either way or side your entry gives thought. May today be a good day. Enjoy the morning. Always do you share the positive. Blessings always Bill. (smile)

Bill, I was just reading "A Return To Love" best seller...The wise don't pretend to know what it's impossible to know. "I don't know" can be an empowering statement. When we go into a situation not knowing, there is something inside us which does. With our conscious mind, 'we step back in order that a higher power within us can step forward and lead the way.' An uplifting and most worthy Sonnet!

Thank you for the thoughtful comments, Anaya. I agree with you, there is a power greater than us and that power communicate thru our hearts and souls. "If we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains, perform miracles! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. Smiles ~ Blerssings Bill

But Y?! ~ YMCA! That's why. Seriously, you are on to something mighty important here, Bill. It Is NOT an 'existential crisis' if a 7 year-old doesn't know 'Why' --- or a 70-year-old too, for that matter! Thanks, gw

I glad we can agree on this, Gershon. We humans seem to almost always think we have to know why. It's more logical to just except things and poeple for what an who they are respectively. Thanks for the comment, my friend. Have a pleasant day! Bill

yes, just knowing sometimes is all it takes to make us less anxious whether we are small kids or adults. Good one, Bill.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, my friend. The more difficult our livies become, the more we need to have faith and trust in God; and the less we (need) to know why. God's blessings to you, Victor. Bill

I'm delighted, Bill, to see you writing a sonnet. I've missed your sonnets. Anyway, your sonnet captures the difficulty we humans (who sometimes act like children) have in wanting to know 'why' things happen to us, especially the challenging or negative ones. We want to understand beyond our capacity. Trust and faith in God is essential. It seems simple at times, but alas we humans frustrate ourselves looking beyond the moments given to us. I like the strong ending. hugs, Sara Etgen-Baker
