Truths and Promises In the Name of God

This is a list of some of the names of God ( in the Bible), and some of the promises made by God. Example: Messiah / Jesus

There are many more, just some I thought of while praying this morning.

I thought some readers may enjoy seeing these so I posted them as a List poem.

Hi Bill, wonderful list of names. There are probably more but he is just Yaweh, Father to me. The creator of all lives in our hearts, it is so easy for us to reach him and he is ever willing to be close to us. Loved this one, my friend. Have a wonderful evening. Your friend always ..... Mike.

Wonderful comment, Mike. He lives within our hearts. That's what matters most to me. I try to look at other peoples hearts and remember we all make mistakes and need forgiveness sometimes. I feel a closeness in spirit with you my dear friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Thank you so much Bill . When we go through this list, our mind gets filled with the image of the omnipresent, omnicient and omnipotent God. To your list I shall add a few more.... Creator, Shepherd, Son of Man, Healer, Maker, Saviour, Guide, Anchor....He cannot be described in mere words... ! His greatness exceeds all boundaries!

I originally was going to ask those that commented to add other names to my list, but decided to limit mine to 25. I like your additions, Valsa. One of the experiences that I enjoy the most is hearing song of praise sung in languages I don't know. I don't know what they are singing, but I can feel the power of their Love of God. While in Thailand during the Vietnam war period, hearing the choirs songs sustained me while away from my wife and children and my home country. Sorry for being so wordy. :-) Bless you my friend, Bill

Interesting list... In Hebrew there are 70 names for God. The two I like best: Shalom (Peace); Emes (Truth). Have a great week, my friend.

Jesus was the Son of God, born of man. His Father was Yahweh, not Joseph. Joseph was willing to marry a woman who was impregnated already. So, he had no human father, I mean…no human’s sperm involved. Biblically, it can be poetic at times. Interpretation of the Bible is subjective. And priests of all stripes are not Biblical scions. Bill, a great list…I learned these in 16 years in parochial schools ..but am no master of religion nor the Bible Panagiota with hugs xxx

And Son of Man - Jesus refers to himself as the Son of Man at his Trial. - also refer to Mark 2.27-28, Mathew 12.8 AND Luke 6.5. It is absolutely amazing that you have referred to so many ways that one can refer to God and Jesus by. Wonderful my friend a certain fave for me, hugs and blessings Jennifer.

Wow Bill, great Post my friend. I love all his names. Along the topic of Jesus I heard a Christian song and I believe the name was Jireh of the song. It sounded like Gyra. I kept thinking about what it meant, then I heard the whole explanation meaning God will provide. So glad you shared all these wonderful names of our Savior.
