Wonderful observation Harry ! When we sleep, one third of our life is wasted ! But without wasting so much of time the world will go mad ! Some people are innocent only in sleep !

I understand your point of perspective, Harry! I do not seem to have enough time to do all I want to do, but without sleep I would accomplish even less :) Regards // paul

Classic observation, Harry... Resonant with me: When I was 15, I decided that I wouldn't 'waste' 1/3 of my life sleeping. From age 15 - 65, I averaged 4 - 5 hours sleep per night every year, maximum. Now, having beaten back (for now) a bad case of amnesia, I sleep 8 - 9 hours per night and love it... Go figure! ~ Gershon

Well, for me some of my sleep time is spent in hoping that I can sleep just a little more since I haven't slept much all night. LOL..Enjoyed reading your work. Thanks for your visit to my page. Sara

Perhaps in a 100 years from now there will be a pill that assists us to be well, productive and happy without having to sleep for a third of our lives, so much to see and do and so little time to achieve it all and then our time is over. Brilliant Senryu. Hugs and blessings,Jennifer.

aha, 1/3!! To sleep perchance to dream. I sure do love sleep and dreams. I think about it a lot since I am lucky to get 1/4 my life in sleep. It's sure hard to come by these days. Love this, Harry

Yep! So true. And there are times, when eyes open, yet we sleep -- we waste so much, when we could be doing good for self and others. Blessings my friend. Great write! A volumes worth in a few lines.

So true, Harry. I never thought of it that way, but a third of our life is blanked out by sleep. Very interesting to ponder.

Wow, Harry. It struck me that of all the pondering I’ve done during my long life, what you wrote here has never crossed my mind! So concerned with the When’s of going to sleep and waking, never thought of the disappearing During. Haha a whole new aspect to ponder…. Great pen here! Great pondering! Great gift! Thank you! Hugs!

Good Morning hh - Wouldn't it be great if we didn't need to sleep and just continue on but no scientist has figured that out for us yet (smile). None of us get enough so may we all make the most of each rest. Blessings to you always. Have a wonderful day with meaning. Remain safe.

True, but the dreams come more than we "know" as a way of - might I repeat what the Good Book hints in Genesis 39-50 (Joseph's dreaming was God talking). Is sleep not a way to get tripartite humans to communicate "among oneself" as the Trinity does (Spirit, Body, Soul - yes, in that order of priority for Creation??) shalom, shalom & thx 4 getting me going. Yes, I see Michelle's was first to have this THUNDER. Sir Harry, wonderful U write here
