Risk and Reward

What is risk if not an invitation to break through our existing stagnation. We have given up our precious freedom and invited in a life of boredom. Could coincidences in life be clues? Are they hints, the direction we should choose? Should we unleash the habits of our past? Should we break them like chains, take risk at last? Our fear has imprisoned us in the known, stealing from us rewards of the unknown. The known is comfort and security. Unknowns’ reward is creativity. Go to where creativity exist. There’s no reward without taking the risk.

A creative write. Love your line, "There’s no reward without taking the risk." Very true. Guess all of us take a risk in writing, not knowing if it will be liked or not. Have a wonderful day/weekend................

Yes, putting our thoughts and feeling out in the open is risky. People don't always think like we do and some can be very negative about our efforts. Writing is a risky business and poetry even more so. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

I took the risk of going into a bathroom and did not turn the light on because we have a small night light in our bedroom, - I broke my wrist, - but it is said that nothing ventured nothing gained. I am adventurous but to a point. However it is necessary to take risk on at some time in our lives, Bill you are absolutely right. Hugs and blessings, JENNIFER.

Made me smile, sorry for the broken wrist because of your risk. It doesn't always lead to the best outcome. :-) My adventures are changing in nature ... more mental than physical these days. lol Hugs, Bill

Wise thoughts Bill, in a lovely sonnet. Sometimes the prisons we find ourselves in are locked from the inside. Let's be bold and take those risks. Grace ~ John

Thanks for your comments, John. You are absolutely correct, we do most of the harm we experience to ourselves. Love, grace, mercy and forgiveness ... thank God for these. Bless you my friend, Bill

Bill, your sonnet is well written, and it has helped bring much insight to my beliefs as well as a sense of refreshment to my spirit. You are able to portray a great deal of reality via your search for solutions. A discussion to think about while you go thru the motions of your life.

This is a profound poem that raises a lot of legitimate questions: " Could coincidences in life be clues? Are they hints, the direction we should choose? " My answer is that they are clues, and they are also hinting to change direction, dearest Bill. Blessings!

Sometimes we just don't realize the risk we take, at other times we become are we are meant to be and the risk factor seems to disappear. Whatever the case with you, my friend. Please continue as you are, you rock! :-) Thanks for the visit and comments Andrea. Hugs, Bill

You're wonderfully written sonnet refreshed my soul and brought some clarity to my thoughts. You're poem spoke to me on a deep level about the role fear plays in keeping me in the known, comfortable world. I strive to be creative in thought, word, and deed. To do so, I must relinquish fear's hold on me. Thank you, Bill, for writing such a succinct poem. Du bist der Beste!

How wise are your thoughts..... dear Bill! We are chained to the known ! There may be treasures and gems hidden in the unknown depths. Those who are daring and willing to take risks can plunge into the unknown and come up with hidden treasures. But those unwilling to take risks will stay moored to the mires of stagnation. This highly meaningful poem goes into my FAVE

Thanks Milt. I've been reading some about the creative process and how it comes from the unknown. Thought I'd write a sonnet about it in general. I'll have to write more if people seem to like reading what I'm writing. Thanks for the visit and comment my friend. Bill
