Just August

August sings summer's sad farewell tune. Blossoms smile happily ere they fade. Birds nap; distant rainclouds gather soon. Leaves still, then quietly sleep in shade. August hush in fevered afternoon. Dear Ann, you capture the decline of August so beautifully with wonderful imagery of the blossoms’ fade yet you express the lingering late summer heat brilliantly with; “August hush in fevered afternoon”. Such a grand finale to a splendid poem. A month of two personalities expressed with finesse. Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes for you, my friend.. ~Susan

Dear Susan, Thank you for your lovely comments! I've always felt August was a sleepy month, as we ready ourselves for Autumn's exurberance.
