Gnarled, Graceful Green Words Poetry Contest Sponsored by Constance La France 10/01/23

Green is the color of lush grass and emerald, too There is also a slang meaning. I wonder if you knew You must think I'm gullible, but I know you're mean I will not be tricked by you. Don't think I am green You wear a dark disguise, never a smile on your face It's vile venom that you spew, then quickly erase Don't mistake me for a fool. I've never been naive I see through your lies. I'm not one you can deceive Sage is a green herb, and a person who's very wise No more abuse from you. Now, it's my turn to chastise

Stellar poem, Jan. Just fantastic readability. It's both dramatic, reaffirming, and empowering. BTW I see a pattern in some of your poetry - dooty. LOL Are you also the designated mess "cleanerupper?" I keep coming back to your creations. :')

Yup. The 'veteran immigrants' to America used to call the new arrivals 'greeners' a century ago in New York City.

I've done a few rants in my time lol, I never know what will come out of my pen but i did want to do a different take on the 'green' theme. I have a poem 'envious Ivy' I found that plagiarised and amended on the web - such a shame folk stoop so low and the ending they had of the poem didnt make sense:-( hugs Jan xx

a nice take on the 'green' theme. So many times we all are 'green' and naive. But we become like green sage, wise not accept deception and lies. Well said...best wishes on the contest, Sara
