Childhood Nostalgia
ran down grassy slopes
looking for the bleating lambs
chasing butterflies~
our world buoyant like bubbles,
high up, dazzling rainbow hues
gone are those sweet days
of frolic with springing steps
wrapped in great wonder~
is it death of verdant spring
or autumn’s ripe mellowing
as bygone sunset
the joy of childhood is gone
lost in tides of time~
will we ever get it back
a sweet gift once and for all
