Be Who You'Re Meant To Be

If you want to be true, you must be you, Though the people will seldom understand. Listen not to the crowd, make your soul proud, Be authentic and be the best you can. Trying to please all, just assures you will fall, You must follow your truth, with all your might. No challenge is too tall, if you listen to the call, Seeing with your heart’s sight, just follow the light. Crucify the ego, let the universe know, You’ll submit to your part as intended at creation. It may be slow, but awareness will grow, You’ll begin to feel the oneness sensation. You don’t have to know why, just give up the lie, They don’t really know what’s best for you. They won’t know the truth the day they die, on what they say you can’t rely. For to live another’s life is impossible to do. If you walk inside another’s shoes, I guarantee that you will lose. You are unique and one of a kind. Like a great inventor without a muse, or solving a mystery without any clues, The key to the purpose and path of your life is only for you to find.

Thoughts to think, upon the brink..about whether you can stand and how long for Against fates tide un-dammed.? I advise A hefty draught of Gods instruction..Some May laugh?? Yet all you doubters in debt to Sin, all is indeed lost. If you refuse to win.!

A great poem that shows that we should explore our innate abilities(at least)...and why is this almost taboo as teens? Life is interesting indeed!

The profound and benevolent essence of your expressions and emotions is truly extraordinary. Bill, your wise guidance is exquisitely conveyed through a magnificent poem! The divine has a distinct purpose and blueprint for every individual. The inner voice within us will provide guidance. Pay heed to it attentively and respond accordingly.

"Crucify your ego" I found this Bill: Reinventing yourself doesn’t necessarily have to be a complete overhaul of who you are as a person. It should be about recognizing your values and living your life as your authentic self! You shared a thing of beauty--most valuable."Just be you"

That's true, Anaya, in my case I was very outgoing and good at everything I tried. My ego was taking over my life. I had to crucify my ego in order to be more submissive to my enter voice. My heart didn't have to change, just the way I used my God-given talents. Thanks for the mindful comment and for reading my poetry, my friend. Bill

Yup!! 'I gotta be me!' sounds a little immature, but it's so, so true. Eventually you, the person, will burst out anyway (at least in a non-totalitarian state), so YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE YOU!! Excelsior, Bill!

Hi Bill. Hope all is well with you. This theme in terwoven in almost all my poetry. And. in two specific ones recently. Love your, line about the shoes.. I need to understand that I found who I was over 60 years ago and move on to a more transformed state of being……..I am used to being blown off. My answer is…it makes no difference! I am whole. Run with whole people ad blow off the dtruggling fish.)) Pangiw

Best wishes to you and Sara! Please appreciate who you are, I cannot tell you the huge amount if people I commented to and wrote tributes to …here at PS, who do not read me..people move on,knockoff worrying about commenting. People who comment to you are online acquaintances. They are not like friends in real life. I was dumb enough to believe that. I learned the hardway. Do things in real life more..some one calls commenting homework.!there are folks who do nothing but comment all day? That’s nuts. I am getting older but appreciative of life. Live life you. Choose. I am so glad you and Sara have a great relationship! That is primary. Keep exercising. Pangie

Go for it! You seem to be doing fine. As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you, Pangie. I'm still trying to figure out how to be active here and balance my time for reading, writing, and commenting on poetry with the small amount of time I have available. Things are going better now for Sara and I. She saw the doctor today and will start giving herself a daily shot now to help build up her bone density. Thanks for the visit and comments my friend. Smiles ~ Blessing Bill

Yes, it is important to find one’s purpose and path as the only unique you - it doesn’t have to be big. It is not in finding oneself but in losing ourselves in Jesus. God bless you, Bill!

God has a definite plan and design for each one of us. The inner conscience will give us directions. Listen to it intently and act accordingly. Don't try to listen to what others say. Have your own stand, be not like a rolling stone or a toy in other's hands. Each one is unique and one of a kind. Respect your identity and pay heed to the inner call. A philosophic musing full of sagacity and mature thoughts, dear Bill

Bill, this has the distinct ring of "To thine own self be true" but with your own unique style and flare. I like it very much and sometimes wonder what people close to me would think if they knew I write poetry. You got me thinking...Many thanks, Terrell

Thanks, Vijay. I think most us miss the purpose of our lives because we just don't take the time to actual think about what we want to accomplish in our lives. We tend to just do what we want to do as often as possible. IMHO Have a good day my friend. Bill

"The key to the purpose and path of your life is only for you to find." Great ending!~rather beginning I should say. Each of us should open up, and let it happen -- stop standing in one's own doubtful way. Blessings my friend.

I agree, Joe, it's really true. I'm the biggest hindrance to being the person I was created to be. Friends tell me I'm too hard on myself, but I feel like I still haven't let go of control of life and let God flow through me as much as I could. Thanks for you comment and visit, my friend. Have a blessed day. Bill
