August

The boldness of hot August's sun Prompts delicate flowers to faint A sign that nature has begun Preparing her brushes and paints Yellows to brown, greens to gold Beginning with her living room As autumn's vision begins to unfold In earth tones signs her nom de plume Tirelessly working through the night Painting August's meteor showers Entertaining the moon with cloudless sight The light shows lasting for hours Autumn ushers in her favorite time As soon she will be sleeping Occasionally waking for a winter rhyme But dreaming of spring's housekeeping

Thank you Anne Lise. Yes me too. I love the summer but I will also enjoy some cooler weather. We've been right around 100 going on 2 months now, The leaves are already turning brown along with the grass. The earth is parched to say the least.
