Silent Chimes

I stand among lilies of restful souls
That innocence was restored after death.
With a harp of sweetness that weeps and rolls,
Drowning in tears in the last precious breath.
Soil sprinkled over, after forced away,
As essence storms within; nothingness turns
Dusky dimness and silence of grief stay.
I whimper in sorrow a flame that burns.
Loosen consecrate loam waiting to heal,
As sweet engaging scents croon throughout spring –
Before the frost of forgetfulness steal
A handful carried daffodil, bells ring.
Death most stolen, bewitch the afternoon
From ceaseless fields of promises to time.
Still, I taunt times ethereal wings soon.
None listens to my mournful silent chime.
