Hi All [I'm back ...]
I just adore sonnets. There are so many, many modern sonnet forms, I thought 6 POETS & I could polish up 6 more verses for their portfolios. Get them ready to submit! This are the sonnet forms we will be doing. [Don't worry we will not be focusing on meter BUT you need the verse to SING when read aloud - to sound so to speak - right - not stumbling or contorted]. SONNET FORM #1 Beginning of the Line rhymed Sonnet [use any sonnet rhyme pattern you like]

try for iambic pentameter -10 syllables per line

A Thoughts froth, crest, and merge ocean wanderings
B of the drugged mind as scenes distort the time.
A Fraught with unknown beginnings or dead ends,
B love melts like so much smoke on a chill wind.
C Fusing, coalescing, horrors chose to land

C abusing the hindmind of man, stretched taunt
D upon a tufted skull afire in frazzled red.
e In swirls about his hand skies firefly

SONNET FORM #2 Chained Sonnet - try for iambic pentameter - 10 syllables poer line
Gargoyles Aren't Real - We Are (Chained Sonnet)
Before we met I had become entranced,
Entranced by how my life had been enhanced.
Enhanced by lack of guile which so revealed,
Revealed a spirit not to be concealed.
Concealed not by an artifact deployed.
Deployed so verity is not destroyed.
Destroyed in falsity would be belief,
belief that truth would reap its own relief,
relief from wearing faces that dispute--
dispute your soul and render self abuse.
Abuse not one another with pretend.
Pretend creates facades you can't defend.
The grinning gargoyles sat and watched above,
above our heads as we two fell in love.

SONNET FORM #3 Acrostic Sonnet [use any sonnet rhyme pattern you like]
Black Friday Shopping
The crowd was an avalanche coming in.
Event promotion: a circus it seemed.
Less time was spent preparing, staff was thin.
Leaving unspent coupons was quite undreamed.
The parking lot was now afloat with cars.
Hello! The drunks are falling out of bars
Especially to see the dancing girls
Machine precisioned bonnets hid their curls.
The stock boys were an army through the store.
Here stands the boss, a monument to glitz.
Employees hide their hair more than their tits.
You know which stumbling drunks want to see more.
Liquor, and candy-canes donned cloaks of foil.
Instant rebates were blooming on each aisle.
Kiosk sales pitches bubbled to a boil.
E-mail and flyer ads made shoppers smile.
Inventory flew through door through the night,.
This all because the voting turned out right.

SONNET FORM #4 Echo Sonnet a*bbA accA addA a*A.
a*, a and A lines all rhyme and a* and A lines are the repeating lines
Tell Me of Your Anger in Whispers (Echo Sonnet)
Should you be moved to speak in anger, dear,
Is it essential now that blame be found;
will such proceed toward a common ground?
Remember, love makes anger disappear.
Harsh words once thrown will travel like a spear.
Delay such words, for they can surely wait.
Give time for impulse anger to abate.
Remember, love makes anger disappear.
Received in love the message will be clear.
My love, use whispers closely late tonight.
I love you, honey; I will make it right.

SONNET FORM #5 Sestina Sonnet - NO RHYME The four words that end the lines of the first stanza, end the lines of the other two stanzas, in a different order each time. The last stanza, uses two of those words per line, with one in the middle and one at the end of the line.
SONNET FORM #6 - Shadow Sonnet May be written in any sonnet style. The Shadow takes place at the beginning and ending of each line as the words are identical or homophonic words or
their derivatives. 14 lines Should have a volta or pivot (if original form does)
Iambic pentameter is not necessary.
