What to Submit?
1. One new limerick on the theme of summer, they can be funny, humorous or bawdy. ( please keep them PG-13 and not x-rated).
2. Please follow the limerick form and rhyming scheme. See below:
Limerick poems should have five lines with the rhythm AABBA, which is a pattern that determines the lines of the rhyme. A given letter of the alphabet represents the rhyming sound, the rhyme scheme begins with the letter A and uses a new letter for each ending sound. The form AABA indicates that the first and second and the fifth line should rhyme with each other. The third and the fourth line, on the other hand, form another pair of a rhyme scheme.

3. Poems should have the exact same syllable counts for lines 1, 2 & 5 and exact rhymes.
4. Lines 3 & 4 should ahve the same syllable counts and exact rhymes.
5. Do not exceed the allowable syllable amounts, see above.
6. You may add pics, illustrations but remember, I am not able to see them when judging.
7. Please use howmanysyllables or PS syllable counter to check your poems.
Poems written before 7/5/26 will not be considered for placement.
I do pay attention to meter and flow and do find that if the syllables and rhymes are followed to a T as noted above the poems will have good meter and flow.
There will be multiple placements.
Preparing Your Entry
Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts.
English Language
Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
A Note to Poetry Contestants
You are welcome to enter this contest, whether or not you won a prize in one of my previous contests.
