What to Submit?
Hello everyone ~
First of all, I’d like to attribute this idea to John Watt. He proposed that it would be interesting to read every poet's 10 poems that most represent them or the 10 top poems they are the proudest of. This has nothing to do with how many people fave’d your specific poems. This is all about the poems that are more meaningful TO YOU and represent you as a person/poet.
***What I need is a list of 10 poem TITLES with a short comment for each title (20 words max) as to why that poem is defining.***
IF YOU ARE AMBITIOUS - I realize it might take special computer finesse but... it would be ideal to actually provide the link to each poem instead of the title.
It's totally up to you but it would great if you included this list on your PoetrySoup bio page where you introduce yourself.
Those of you who have been prolific may find it difficult to come up with only 10 poems. I encourage you to come up with a long initial list of your defining poems ~ and from these you can narrow it down to the top ten ~ wouldn’t it be meaningful to gather these for our own satisfaction and for posterity.
***Either way, I just want your list of 10 defining poem TITLES plus that one line COMMENT per title.***
I trust you will see the value of this exercise on a personal level and agree that the time invested will be well worthwhile ~
As far as judging goes, I'm pretty sure the level of investment will be visibly obvious.
