I WAS ME

First I was me,

Selfish as can be,

Wanting everything from A to Z

And wanting it all for me.

Then I became we,

A part of an us.

I learned to share, give and take

I learned how to trust.

Next I was you,

Believe me it's true.

I would rather give than receive,

It was you I wanted to please.

Now I am them,

A family man.

Giving my children,

All that I can.

If you look real close,

It is easy to see,

I am older and wiser,

And no longer a me.

hey, just put a wig on your head and you will be one sexy mama, JOe!! tall just like a model!! Love your poem. Myself, I only use heels on special occasions. The doc told me I couldn't wear them due to degenerative disease. They are killers on the spine!!

Part of our agreement with our Rotary Club was that if the club raised over $1,000 we would take pictures and post them on websites. The club raised over $1,700!!! This includes some donations from poets on this site!!!! Thanks everyone - now, off for my walk.
