Rylands Raves ... Rumors

Rumors are hate made simplified; they speak of things that are only learned of in passing, always from a second party. If it was you telling the story of what happened to “you” then it’s not a rumor, its … fact. But no, these things … these stories are always added upon or subtracted by the listeners perspective, they are garnered from a myth that we think must be real … and why … because our “best friend” told us the tale of this and that, and we take it from there. I’m guilty of it, and I know that you are too; we are all guilty of this thing called “GOSSIP”

Man or Woman, it matters not the sex involved, all that matters is that what we hear from an outside source we take as gospel. And the story always seems to manifest in a way that is more splendid than the last time it was told, it builds with each passing “spectator” in a theme of growing importance … and why, because when the story was first it told it only affected two people, but now seven generations old it affects an entire community. And that is NEWS and not just a “rumor” anymore.

So be kind when you hear something about your neighbor or just the friend that you knew in School. “Everything that glitters is not gold”, I think the song said? Realize that within you is a mind, created to question EVERYTHING that is around it, to probe and ponder all things that we know not of?? So why should it be so easy for us to accept a few words spoken in passing by someone that we count as “friend” when that word “FRIEND” may itself indeed be the “rumor”!!
