Rylands Raves ..... A Rainbow Sky

Been Abscent    

Though I have not penned words for a timeless minute, my thoughts have not been far from you, my friends at poetry soup, those who have kept me sane through the tumult of my thoughts. Linda, not only my Sweetheart, but the Sweetheart of all that is "Soup", Carolyn Devonshire, a friend to the end ... with words that console and at the same time educate. Dr. Rahm Metta, your words are as flowers that spring forth color within a shadowy hall that before only bestowed grey's ... and hints of darker grays, and the "poet Destroyer", whose name portends to exemplify things to be feared, but whose words bring light to a hope that we all knew existed.
     
      Never in my life have I encountered a "community" that has its entire.... vested interest built around a singular thought.... to bring words to those who want to read them, as long as they are not offensive in the obvious ways (you know what they are ... we all do) and give those words an opportunity to make their mark, to be read, to be written, to be felt by a population that will inevitably dissect them to see what they are made of and not judge the contents contained within, but see the "whole" picture portrayed by a Poets mind.

      The written word is a powerful thing, entire Nations have risen and toppled by it, Women and Men have lived and died by it, and above all else we have ALL learned from it.

      I would like to apologize for my absence, I was on sabbatical in Africa for the last few months and was not able to attend to the niceties of.... keeping in touch (in the normal ways anyway), but am here now and have many things to share with those minds open to "listen" and as we are poets all ... I await your regard.
