Remember to Live

I’ve grown tired of wondering why I am
I stopped really caring a few years back

I decided living was my purpose
If I die tomorrow, then so be it

Take every day if it were my last
Caring not where I stand on the ladder

Looking about my material gains
Gathering dust for maid’s Friday dusting

For what silly purpose they have served me
Not to feed me or provide me with warmth

My prized possession has no shape or form
It simple flutters about in my mind

Friendships are nice, but are they really friends
I’m much too competitive for real friends

Marriage is important I would suppose
More important to my dear wife then me

Food and a blanket is all I require
Perhaps something to make a cozy fire

Being today’s civilized modern man
In society with fellow humans

The whole thing makes me laugh, just giggle
While looking at my mirrored reflection

I smile and turn away with a chuckle
Just run baby and remember to live

Some legends never die. Some people never live. I'm somewhere in between, still clinging to some of the materialistic bull, but enjoying every freakin' moment. Great philosophy. Have a great one. Vince
