Krish Radhakrishna Biography

I am a doctor based in UK and have served the National health service for nearly 30 years. Poetry has been my interest from a very early age and read poetry in Hindi, Tamil and English.
My all time favourite poem is the Elegy in a country churchyard by Thomas Gray, I love Robert Frost, Browning, Wordsworth and Tennyson. I have made a pilgrimage to their birthplace.My favourite writers include Somerset Maugham and Dapne Du Maurier.
I love reading poetry but like great poems that are not lost in extreme verbosity, a tendency for many who employ free verse. Christina Rossetti is a great example of a poet who conveyed beautiful thoughts in simple language.
' Home they brought her Warrior dead' is a good example of a brilliant poem written with the simplest of words.

I look forward to reading the brilliant works of the many poets on Poetry Soup.

New Poetry Soup Anthology

Delighted to learn that the new anthology is being compiled! Look forward to it very much!

May I suggest the following

1) The legal name of the author may not be the name the author wants to be known or remmebered.So could we have an option - name as it should appear under the poem.

2) My name in the last anthology was listed in two different ways with surname and forename reversed.

3) It would be nice to have categories like -Love, Marriage, spiritual etc..

4) indexing would be useful at the beginning.

I am sure others may have ideas too regarding how the new anthology could be more impressive. I was looking at an anthology called "staying alive." We could have similar features.

Is there a site showing poems submitted for the pending Poetry Soup Anthology? I need that site to edit one of my submitted poems. I'm sure others have the same need. Thanks.

Hi, Krish! Good Morning Folks! Great feedback on the category issue. I bought 4 of the last Anthology. It should be part of the law under copyrights, that it needs to be under your legal name. I'm not sure of this fact, but is it something that requires research? Best of Wishes, William

May be but we can have a name as we would like to be remembered. Do not want our legal name under the poem! WB Yeats is better than the long form!

I agree, I usually use my first two initials; had to put a complete name on there in the form. Prefer it would appear with initials in the book.

Krish, thanks for the blog. I am sure PS will make adjusts along the way to improve their Anthologies. I am just happy that they are doing them and my poems are within the pages ~Constance

Good ideas Krish, in the last one two of mine were listed as Tom that ive used for 50 odd years and one listed as Thomas, no one calls me that. In this one the only way it would accept them was Thomas and not Tom. Grrrrr. Like your ideas Krish. Tom
