New Feature: Create a cool image from a poem and share it!!!

Soupers, you can now create an image from a poem or a section of a poem and share it. To create an image, follow these instructions (You can only do this on the individual poem's home page).

  1. Go to the poem's page, like: https://www.poetrysoup.com/poems_poets/poem_detail.aspx?ID=580864
     
  2. Select the poem or section of poem text by clicking and dragging.


     
  3. Click the Share as Image icon


     
  4. Design your image in the pop-up window.




     
  5. Share with your friend via a Social Network.


     
  6. That's It!

Have Fun!!!

The problem with formatting with microsoft word is now worse than before. For about the past 2 weeks I used to be able to post the poem and reformat it straight away - now I cant format it at all. Jan

I felt sad... it is not working as well on me... why?!..,. i thought we can all enjoy it ,but how?!... there's no option to click on share as image...:((

So, I tried this... I was disappointed... I guess it is for premium members... it only showed an image on Facebook and not on the poem page itself. I would love to format the poem page itself! PR

Formatting the poem page is in the works...and it will be for all members. The feature above is for posting poems to social networks. Still working out some bug.

Tried it, sadly you can only do a small part of the poem within the image section, but the entire poem did post to facebook above the image with a see more notation, so that was good, but I would like to put the entire poem within the image, but that's just me, or did I do something wrong???

Please can you sort out the issue of the formatting of our poems before you add anything else - I STILL have to go back and reformat every poem. Personally I'd rather be able to add a photo to a poem than have this feature but that's just my personal preference. Jan

Ive just reformatted my latest poem 3 times and it cannot be altered - this is a step backwards as before once you reformatted it it posted fine:-( Jan

...the adding of a photo is in the works. As far as the formatting, if you are posting from Microsoft Word, that may result. It is a Microsoft word issue that we have yet to resolve.

Good work PS but a facility to upload us reciting (perhaps just one representative poem ) of our anthology as a permanent library would make such a unique experience each time it is read and heard .Rgds Brian

< ? > When one centers poems when posting, can we kindly have the poem title centered also. It looks rather silly having the 'Poem Title' to the left of the poem. I dare say you can enter the same field as you do for the poem itself? - cheery, James :)

Great idea PS, hopefully in time there will be a library of images to use, or even the choice of uploading our own where they are more suitable to our said writes. We would simply be using the tool, as we would be posting outwith PS! Also, having ones Poem Title at the top would be advantageous. If I think up any more more ideas, I'll message them here, James
