I wrote White Buffalo about a legend I heard as a child. I looked up some info and found it to be over 2000 years old. Most of our perceptions of who God is comes from our parents and our culture. Native Americans believed in God (The Great Spirit) and the legend of the White Buffalo was part of their culture. The seven ceremonies were deeply spiritual. Miracle Moon was born in 1997 and in 2005 she gave birth to her seventh White Buffalo, Chief Hiawatha, named after a great chief who brought peace to the Northeastern tribes and who founded the Iriquois league of Five Nations. The native Americans were people of deep spirituality, people of honor. The white man came and destroyed most of their culture and took lands. Then they wrote history books that dubbed their treachery as victories and the Native Americans defense of their lands as massacres.According to the legend, the return of the White Buffalo (Spirit Mountain Ranch in Flagstaff, Arizona) shows that prayers are being heard and the sacred pipe is being honored It signals a time of abundance. The off spring of Miracle Moon are now having their own babies and the prophecies appear to be on the way to being fulfilled. Believe it or not, the name of the brown North American bison who fathered all these white buffalo was Willy Wonka. This is more than legend. It is the belief that regardles of race, color or form, we are all brothers and sisters and the spirit of God (Great Spirit) resides within us. The return of the White Buffalo is a physical sign that God (Great Spirit) is waiting to help us walk in our world with wisdom, knowledge, peace and love. <br>
