Rousing Rondine Update II - Jeff Kyser's Blog

I've done the first read of the poems submitted so far - great to see so many trying this form! If you got the basic form, I've marked the poem as 'read' and moved to round 2. There are a couple (2) of poems where the refrain lines (7, 12) have used the entire first line rather than just a part of it. 

There are 1 or 2 where the rhyme pattern does not match the form. I'm not being a stickler for near-rhyme versus true rhyme in terms of whether the poem makes it to round 2, but I am being persnickety about matching the form (Ra)bbaabR abbaR. If your near rhyme for one of your B rhymes is a true rhyme for your A rhyme (or the reverse), then it kinda looks like you missed the pattern. 

We still have room for some more entries, and like I said, if you check and your poem is unread and you want to update it, that's fine too. Honestly, I don't remember what happens if you update after I've read and moved to the next round. I think when I've updated a poem in a contest after it has been read, I've removed my entry and re-added it to make sure it showed up as unread, but there's probably a better way.
