Jeff Kyser is a retired software developer who lives with his wife Frances right ‘round the bend in rural Lacey’s Spring, Alabama. A late comer to the world of poetry, he has been writing contemplative and whimsical pieces on family, on redemption, and on faith for the last several years. His eight grandchildren are the source for much of his inspiration, fueling a desire to spur their imagination and to share his life’s journey with them.

Poem Count Drop?

Blog Posted by Jeff Kyser: 9/21/2022 7:06:00 AM

Anybody experience a drop in the number of poems they have posted?

I ticked over 1000 earlier, or I assumed I did, based on the fact that I started showing 11 pages.  I'm back to 10 pages, just noticed it yesterday. I write on my mac and cut-n-paste from Scrivener to the PoetrySoup website, so I have all but the trivial ones I typed directly into the soup's editor, but I just thought that curious...

Guess I need to start working on poem 1000 again, lol

Hi Jeff! I think I have all but two of my poems. Fortunately I copy and paste from an outside source so I have been able to find the lost children and bring them home. Thanks for the heads-up! Sending you the blessings of the seasons.

I remember losing a poem--or two--which was later retrieved by Team Poetrysoup when this site temporarily shut down to fix a technical glitch 3 years ago or so. Contact TPS to recover your poems, my friend. I hope you get all poems you lost back! So far, I still have all of mine. Whew!...

Yeah, it's weird, because when I added the 1001th poem, the ... or >> started showing up, then just a few days again, I noticed I was back to 10 pages. No worries, and they make a point of saying BACK YOUR STUFF UP, but i wondered if that was something that had occurred in the past... Thanks, John

Jeff, I am sure as of today, I still have all my poems, all 44 pages of them, all my contest wins and failures too, all 89 pages of those as of today, when you start thinking, it is quite a lot, sorry you are missing poems, that is frustrating blessings ~

I haven't checked mine, Jeff, but I can tell you that statistics on Poetry Soup are often skewed, for some reason. Who knows?

Lots of strange goings-on in the kitchen. I can attest to that, Jeff.
