About Jeff Kyser
(Click for Poet Info...)

Jeff Kyser is a retired software developer who lives with his wife Frances right ‘round the bend in rural Lacey’s Spring, Alabama. A late comer to the world of poetry, he has been writing contemplative and whimsical pieces on family, on redemption, and on faith for the last several years. His eight grandchildren are the source for much of his inspiration, fueling a desire to spur their imagination and to share his life’s journey with them.

Fascination and Awe Poetry Contest now open

Blog Posted by Jeff Kyser: 5/15/2022 4:28:00 PM

The Fascination and Awe Poetry Contest is open now! Write a new / original poem on the theme of What Fascinates Me. Write about a subject, any subject, that fascinates, amazes, produces awe and inspires you, something interesting, something uplifting, something others might not know, or something that your unique perspective makes compelling.

Choose any form you like. Share your passion on the subject with me, and inspire or fascinate me too!

Any form is acceptable, but let's keep it below 40 lines as an upper maximum, with no need to feel you have to make it that long. It could be from nature, from science,  from history, from technology, from art, from religion/faith/spiritual matters, from personal experience, something vast and grand, something tiny and normally unobserved. Politics is probably a hard sell, but if you can make it uplifting, positive, inspiring to others, go for it.

Since all forms are acceptable, please make the title What Fascinates Me so I'll know not to read it ahead of time.

Enjoy and thanks for considering entering!

Jeff, a line from an old Flat and Scrugss song....(somewhat relative to the Covid 20 weight gain) "She had eight buttons on her dress but she could only fasten eight"
