Welcome to my page!

I am a man of many interests - TOO many, I think, lol - and because of that I never gave writing the attention I should have when I was young. I started writing poetry in December of 2016, and joined Poetry Soup at the same time. I am currently working on an R&B/Soul album for a major label, so, as has usually been the case, poetry does not get the time I'd like to give it, (though I plan to change that in the future, and write a book-or-two, a sci-fi novel and an autobiography) ...

I like to incorporate classic styles and phrasing into a modern frame when I write poetry, and try to cover a wide range of genres, but I enjoy the darkly sensual the most, despite its limited audience. I hope you'll give my rather unusual style a chance, read a piece-or-two, and leave a comment, if you'd be so kind. the towers burned ...
billows roiling and twisting into azure
an oily, angry monster to thrash the morn
consuming two flowers of steel
raping a world's innocence ...

 

the petals fell ...
colors fluttering in the late-summer air
precious petals, rich with limbs and lives and loves
that plunged the sunny splendor, screaming
and turned the earth crimson ...

 

the heavens wept ...
ashen, poisoned tears of mad malice
careless caliphates, crying sin from a foreign sky
shrouding a free world, brought to its knees
where it found its greatest ...

 

strength.

You my friend have managed to create a masterpiece on that tragic and deadly disaster inflicted by murderous and crazy fanatics. Your verses show the dark ness and the return of the Light in-- " the heavens wept" verse. As Heaven did weep and so did milions of us. Some to never forget. Brilliant.. A fav..

Watching events unfold on TV just didn't seem real, a tragic accident someone said then when the second plane struck they realised it was terrorism. How someone could commit such an evil act is beyond me. That day the world changed forever and the threat of terrorism hasn't gone away, we must be forever vigilant. May the poor souls who lost their lives on that horrific day rest in peace. Tom
