Thought I better get round to writing a bit about myself.

I'm married and live on the Isle of Man

My poetry journey began in November 2013 after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. The first poem I wrote was called was Splendid Isolation. This was written after we returned to the Isle of Man after his surgery in England. I felt so alone and vulnerable in the accommodation  - all I really needed was someone to talk to face to face and maybe have a hug! I posted a few poems on a friends facebook page - mainly humerous poems . An on-line friend Jenny Brewer saw my poems and kept telling me to join here. It took about 3 weeks of her asking me if i had joined to pluck up the courage to finally post and 'Just Desserts'  was the first poem I posted here - it is based on a true experience! Since then my life has been a whirl.  In Jared Pickett's collaboration I teamed up with Darren Watson and we wrote together collaboratively as JaDazzle United.

I adore penguins - the animals not the biscuits!
Loveeeee tall men with greying hair
I love baking/cooking
I like to potter in the garden - need more time to commit to it but have an aged mother who needs me more than my garden does
Adore most types of music - will give anything a listen
Best ever gig - Knebworth 1986 when 'Queen' headlined

Jan your contest was a first for this old timer.I had never before written a sequenced footle,or a pure footle for some years.I enjoyed the experience and perhaps if prompted by topical 'events' here may do so again.Keep smiling.

Jan Along with all contest sponsors you are the backbone of this PS workshop. It is no easy task (as you know from this latest one) but it is ,along with the blogs, what has kept PS at the forefront of the digital poetic scene and a daily must read.Keep on keeping on ,come what may.

Jan it has been a delight for me over the years to see the developing variations to the form.I believe poetic forms are living things that change with time and imagination.Perhaps the sonnet is an example of this and the haiku in English

I had some absolutely fabulous poems Andrea and it is so wonderful to see people embrace the footle form and have fun. I was so honoured to find Brian had entered my contest with the form that he invented. It was a shame the judging was marred by glitches and it was infuriating to go through the process and then not be able to finalise the contest - it is not the first time this has happened. I will probably do a limerick contest next after my recent poem inspired people to write follow up poems:-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks Jan for running a fun contest. Poems using Brian's footle form are inspiring and spark some good vibes into the site. I know there are many days I need a laugh or a smile and you have brought that here in your contest.

COULD I REQUEST THAT THE PERSON WHO REMOVED THEIR POEM TODAY NOT TO BOTHER ENTERING ANY MORE OF MY CONTESTS IN THE FUTURE. just so people know Jan's talking about me. i confess. yes i did remove my poem. it had to do with something that precipitated on something. i'm wrong. okay. but just look at her tone in her message. why the hate? she also sniped on me regarding baby avatar and now this. okay message received. if this makes you happy.

Connie your poem was removed from my contest several days ago. My comment clearly states it was a SECOND poem that was removed TODAY.
