Thought I better get round to writing a bit about myself.

I'm married and live on the Isle of Man

My poetry journey began in November 2013 after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. The first poem I wrote was called was Splendid Isolation. This was written after we returned to the Isle of Man after his surgery in England. I felt so alone and vulnerable in the accommodation - all I really needed was someone to talk to face to face and maybe have a hug! I posted a few poems on a friends facebook page - mainly humerous poems . An on-line friend Jenny Brewer saw my poems and kept telling me to join here. It took about 3 weeks of her asking me if i had joined to pluck up the courage to finally post and 'Just Desserts' was the first poem I posted here - it is based on a true experience! Since then my life has been a whirl. In Jared Pickett's collaboration I teamed up with Darren Watson and we wrote together collaboratively as JaDazzle United.

I adore penguins - the animals not the biscuits!
Loveeeee tall men with greying hair
I love baking/cooking
I like to potter in the garden - need more time to commit to it but have an aged mother who needs me more than my garden does
Adore most types of music - will give anything a listen
Best ever gig - Knebworth 1986 when 'Queen' headlined

I received a lovely mail from Teppo Gren, he is busy writing fictional books. He has published one book, completed a second and working on his third book.

He will not be returning to soup but is happy for me to post this message

"Please let all my friends at PS know that I’m fine and I do think of my PS friends with fondness. Although I’m unable to comment, I do read some poems on PS every now and then".

Jan, I am so glad to hear TJ is doing well, and still writing. We shared a love for sonnets and he wrote some beautiful ones. I know you were very sad to see him go, along with many of us here at Soup. What a gentleman, poet, and encourager! Glad to know he drops in here from time to time. Not sure he is able to see blogs, but please wish him well on behalf of those who remember his kind presence ~ John

I'm not usually into blogs, but the title of this one caught my eye and curiosity. Pleased to know that he is doing what he always liked - writing - and it is bringing him satisfaction and success. Thank you Jan for this update. He supported my writing, and his departure from Soup left a void. Wishing him all the best for his future endeavours.

Teppo Gren will be sadly missed. So glad he is still looking in on the site occasionally. Wonderful news he is still writing. Many thanks for posting this message from him. Jan, thanks for reaching out to Teppo, he was a wonderful poet friend to me, very supportive and kind. So happy to hear he is doing well, and writing books, big congratulations there. I hate to hear that wonderful people like Teppo are driven off PS because of trolls, that is so wrong and heartbreaking and should never happen, but everyone has their limits, blessings ~Constance

I find it quite gratifying to know that TJ still looks in on the soup. This very fine gentleman contacted Jan and me. It's worth noting that he and I didn't leave the site because of the trolls, but because administration did nothing to stop their scathing insults and criticism. He's aware of what has been taking place and is supportive of all the poets who took a stance to keep the peace. Thank you, Jan, for posting this blog. Thank you, TJ and good luck with sales on your books. Does he continue to write poetry? You betcha!

Andrea, he closed his account when he left. I was able to save a few of his wonderful sonnets before he did. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful poet and very supportive of others at Soup.

Sorry I did not know what more to say. I honestly can't remember very much about him. His name is very familiar to me. Are his poems still up? I may have known him better than I recall.
